The Renewal of Promises

Caritas Extended Community Renewing Promises

During an intimate gathering on the evening of December 8, 2019, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, some of the Caritas Extended Community gathered in prayer before a candlelit statue of Jesus, surrounded by the Founder and Community of Caritas, to renew their promises to Our Lady in living, “A Way of Life in a New Time.”

The Caritas Extended Community is a body of people connected in a special way to Our Lady through the Caritas Community. Our Lady has made it known that it is Her will, that people live in Community. When Our Lady told the Founder of Caritas, through Marija on December 13, 1988, that She desired a Community started at his home, it was understood that Our Lady was not talking about just a “Catholic neighborhood” or simply a small town, but a group of people living together as Community, whose life’s purpose is the living and spreading of Her messages. Many years later, Our Lady confirmed this by Her words of June 2, 2013:

“…I, as a mother, desire my children to be in a community of one single people where the Word of God is listened to and carried out…”*

*Our Lady said this resolutely and with emphasis.

Caritas Extended Community Renewing Promises

Caritas Community and Extended Community renew their promises to Our Lady in living out “A Way of Life in a New Time.”

Our Lady desires Her children to live in community as one single people. This is not just a small town, not just a neighborhood, not just a group of supporters, but a body of people dedicated to living out together, the Word of God, as a Community. Caritas’ Extended Community is for individuals and families who want to create a new culture, in the place where they live, through living “A Way of Life in a New Time”, the Community of Caritas’ Rule. How does one do this? Make a spur of the moment decision and come to the Five Days of Prayer for the Reconciling of Ourselves, Our Families and Our Nation Back to God, here at Caritas, and speak to a Caritas Community member about the steps to discerning Extended Community. Caritas Extended Community Renewing Promises, Children

Children watch as the adults renew their promises to Our Lady.

How do you make children into non-believers? You feed them non-belief. How do you make children into believers? You feed them belief. These children above are witnessing something that is ordinary for them – adults who are making a conscious and visible decision to be apostles of Our Lady, as Caritas Community members and Extended Community renewing their promises. We are walking towards a future world that will have great need of new apostles. One of Friend of Medjugorje’s first calls, was to leave a legacy to his children – not of money, but of a way to live. How do you make children into future apostles? By being an apostle yourself.
