Why is Medjugorje Real?

Following the example of the Medjugorje villagers who often climb the surrounding mountains barefoot as a penance for particular intentions, many who pilgrimage to this tiny village from all over the world can be seen with their shoes and hearts in their hands as they climb. “Medjugorje” means “Between the Mountains” and both of the “mountains” surrounding Medjugorje are rock-strewn, bramble-filled places…the perfect setting for a sacrifice.

In the beginning of a supernatural phenomenon, God sends many signs and miracles to strengthen people’s faith. One such miracle in Medjugorje is the spinning of the sun. A group of pilgrims from several different countries can be seen on Apparition Mountain, staring in awe at the spinning sun.

This full moon rises just above the Cross on Penitentiary Mountain at Caritas of Birmingham in 2013. The moon is always a symbol to those who love Her, of Our Lady. The moon has no light of its own, but reflects the light of the sun. God speaks to us through nature of the purpose and role of Our Lady Who is reflecting the light of Her Son to the world.

A panorama taken in 2011 shows the beauty of the organic Medjugorje. The steeples of St. James Church can be seen in the distance. These fields were a refuge for the Medjugorje visionaries in the early days of the apparitions when they were being sought after and persecuted by the communist and are still a place of refuge and in prayer for the millions of pilgrims who travel to the village.

This 16-ton Cross was sacrificially built by the villagers of Medjugorje in 1933 to commemorate the 1900th anniversary of Christ’s death. The water, cement, sand, gravel and tools were carried by hand to the top of Mt. Krizevac, which is more than 1,700 feet above sea level. With this sacrifice of love, the villagers petitioned God to protect their village and their crops both then and into future generations. Our Lady in Medjugorje said that the Cross was providentially erected and this truth is manifested by the millions who have traveled the path to the top, softening the roughest of stones…and hearts.

Beautiful sunsets are not rare in Medjugorje. The Holy Village of Medjugorje brings pilgrims to encounters with God in nature that the coldness of city life and the preoccupation of noise and busyness that surround them never allow them to experience…belief in the extraordinary.

When Our Lady first began appearing to the visionaries in 1981, their parish church was too big for the village surrounding it. None of the villagers could have foreseen that this church was waiting for pilgrims to arrive. Providentially, the church’s patron, St. James, is the patron of pilgrims.

Ivanka Ivankovic Elez is one of the six visionaries of Medjugorje and was 15-years old when she first saw Our Lady on June 24, 1981. Though her eyes only now behold Our Lady once each year on June 25th, those same eyes have beheld more than beauty. Ivanka was shown the Rwanda massacre and genocide in an apparition on June 25, 1993. Our Lady showed her the coming massacre nine months before it was birthed into being. She was shaken by the horrible images she was shown, such as rivers running red with blood and tens of thousands of bodies. War, Our Lady says, begins first in the heart.

Jakov, the youngest visionary, was only 10 years old when the apparitions began. He was eight years old when his father abandoned the family in which he was the only child. He was left an orphan at the age of 12 when his mother died. It is Jakov who steals the heart when looking at old pictures of the visionaries in ecstasy from the first years of the apparitions. For many, it is he who convinced them the apparitions were real, as any normal 10-year-old boy would consider it impossible to have to endure three hours of prayer, on their knees, every single night, year after year, without any break in the routine. If the apparitions had been a trick or a lie conceived by the so-called visionaries, young Jakov would have broke long ago-and yet, it is said of him that he was the most faithful in attendance to the evening prayer services out of any of the six visionaries.

Vicka was 16 years old when the apparitions began in 1981. She is one of eight children and is described as strong-willed, full of energy, courageous, outspoken and fearless. Her smile is contagious. She has been given the life of Our Lady and has written it down to be revealed one day to the world.

Marija was 15 when the apparitions began. Science has proven beyond a doubt the six visionaries are seeing something supernatural. After 25 years of testing, all possible means were exhausted and the verdict final: What they are seeing is supernatural.

“At Medjugorje the Virgin is calling people to believe without waiting for tomorrow; tomorrow will be too late. Second, the Church authority is urging that there be prior verification in order to be sure that it is the Virgin Who is speaking. This is what usually happens with prophetic messages. More often than not, prophets have been believed after their death rather than during their lifetime; and by then it was too late.”

The world has come to Medjugorje, literally. From peasants to kings, atheists to Cardinals; from the remotest areas of Africa, to thrones and castles, they have pilgrimaged to the Holy Village of Medjugorje. Many who have experienced Mass in St. James Church long for the same spirit in their own parishes.

Mirjana was 16 when she first saw Our Lady. In the book she wrote in 2016, My Heart Will Triumph, Mirjana said:

“I have always felt that God has been leading me, in that I’m only an instrument. Who am I without Him, anyway? I rely on prayer and fasting to help me live according to His will, and to help me fulfill my role as a messenger.”

Ivan was 16 when Our Lady appeared for the first time in 1981. He is often heard speaking about the family, which Our Lady said is “in crisis” (June 25, 1995) Ivan has said:

“There is no living Church without living families. There is no call to the priesthood, no vocations in the Church if there is no family prayer. In the family, God comes to call and He invites. This is where priests are born.”

The visionaries make the Sign of the Cross as they greet the Queen of Heaven. The simultaneous focus of the visionaries’ eyes in one instant in one location was proven scientifically and is one of the reasons it can be stated…Medjugorje is real.

Millions of feet have trod the path to Apparition Mountain, praying the mysteries of the Rosary as they climb. The once sharp, protruding rocks are now polished. The view from the top of Apparition Mountain brings clarity of mind and spirit to the one who seeks it.

Our Lady reminds us that we all have crosses. Part of the call of Medjugorje is for Christians to carry our crosses in joy. She said on March 29, 1991:

“Dear children, I want to call (invite) you, under this Cross to take your Cross as the will of God…”

A sunset on the horizon framed out by a cross in Medjugorje is the picture of the bittersweet walk of a Christian. Our Lady said on September 2, 2017:

“…you, my children, apostles of my love, you who suffer, know that your pain will become light and glory…”

Our Lady is our guide in this time. She is leading Her apostles. She is giving words from Heaven, medicine for the nations. She said on April 2, 2011:

“…Follow me, my children, so that also others, in recognizing the truth and love in you may follow you…”

During the first apparitions, the Medjugorje visionaries said it was as if they flew up Apparition Mountain, which was then covered with thick brush. They traveled at an extraordinary speed, and the other village kids recall that even the fastest among them could not keep up with the six visionaries.

The paths in Medjugorje have witnessed millions of spiritual experiences and encounters with Our Lady. They hold a special spot in the heart for those who have walked them. Medjugorje is “off the beaten path.” It is a place that God has given Our Lady to find and raise Her own apostles. These apostles are blazing a trail. They are the “pioneers” of this time because to follow Her takes you on a separate road than the one the world is on.

A Friend of Medjugorje from the early beginning recommended and promoted: Our Lady is the “New Ark.”

From this little village, Our Lady has a huge plan. Mirjana said:

“Through our daily encounters with the Blessed Virgin, we realized that Her plans with Medjugorje were not merely for the village itself, nor were they limited to Yugoslavia. She had come to change the entire world.”

The miracle of the Cross glowing on Mt. Krizevac was seen by many in the village.

The “signs of the times” show that the world is in need of the “Son.” It is screaming out for Him.

Families walked the ‘street of terror’ after the attack calling out for their children. Here lays a child next to her baby doll.

In the aftermath of the attack in Nice, France on Bastille Day at 10:45 p.m. at least 84 people were killed and over 200 were injured. Our Lady said May 2, 2009:

“…My poor children, look around you and look at the signs of the times…”

Throughout all the unpeace, Our Lady is still appearing everyday whether the world acknowledges Her or not.

As a Sign of God’s presence amidst the destruction, two metal beams form a Cross in the World Trade Center ruins.

In stark contrast to the Cross above at Ground Zero, the Cross in Medjugorje stands as a testimony to Medjugorje’s total reliance on God.

Through events in nature, God is sending warnings to His people that life can change in an instant.

Jacinta Marto, Francisco Marto, and Lucia Santos began seeing Our Lady in 1913 in Fatima, Portugal. 2017 marks the 100-Year Anniversary of their apparitions. Our Lady has said in Medjugorje that Her apparitions there are the fulfillment of what She began in Fatima.

In a scene out of a nightmare, ISIS members dressed in black walked 21 Coptic Christian dressed in orange down the beach along a Mediterranean coast. The stark color contrast was coordinated on the part of ISIS for dramatizing the effect in the video they were producing…only the killing was real. Nineteen years earlier Our Lady said in Medjugorje on November 25, 1997:

“…Holy martyrs died witnessing…”

These six children are God’s instruments in this time. How sad it is that the world, despite the terror, disasters, destruction and loss of faith everywhere, pay little attention to the supernatural event occurring in Medjugorje. These six children have literally sacrificed their lives for the salvation of the world. Future generations will see it even if this present generation does not.

Those in black held knives in their hands, those in orange held peace in their hearts. Because they were kidnapped prior to their martyrdom, the families of these men never knew what happened to them until they saw their sons, brothers, husbands, and fathers in the ISIS film with their heads off and sitting on their backs. To place oneself in the shoes of their loved ones is to be both proud and totally and utterly crushed in tears and suffering. Yet, did the world “wake-up?”

Together, these nine children are the billboard announcing the “signs of the times.” They are the ark sitting on dry land for over 100 years. And just as Noah and his family built it amidst the laughs and ridicules of the world, these children have endured the same.

In twenty seconds these “men of the Cross” will be before God. Jesus promised St. Bridget and all who would pray the 15 Prayers, that, “Before his death I shall come with My Dearest Beloved Mother.” Gazing into the faces of these two men it is obvious they are seeing something before them. History shows, beginning with the first martyr, St. Stephen, there are particular graces given to martyrs before their deaths.

Acts 7:55,59

“But he (Stephen)… gazed into Heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God…And as they were stoning Stephen, he prayed, ‘Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.'”

Riot police in Brussels, Belgium, stand guard to protect participants gathered for a vigil in front of the old stock exchange building in Brussels commemorating earlier terrorist attacks that took place in Brussels. Our Lady said on April 25, 2015:

“…You, little children, pray to the Holy Spirit that He may transform you and fill you with His strength of faith and hope, so that you may be firm in this battle against evil…”

The White House in Washington, D.C., was lit up with an anti-rainbow in June 2015, after the United States Supreme Court’s ruling on abominable marriage. A sign satan has hijacked while Christians did nothing to refute it. They attempted to take God’s symbol and use it profanely for abomination of a perverse lifestyle and perverted abominable false civil unions masking them as marriage.

Voting to defy natural law, which is nature’s law, which is Divine Law-a Christian nation who has defied its God, who now brings, not a judgement from God, but a self-inflicted judgement upon themselves by rejecting God. God withdraws where His Law and ways are rejected, turning man over to himself. History has shown that those who think they can continue without God, cannot and will not. It is a lesson from history and a principle of Scripture that can not be avoided.

These young people, praying in preparation for a prayer group apparition on top of Apparition Mountain, know that prayer helps one to “survive” and stand strong against all evil that assaults us, especially the youth. Our Lady calls all of us to be witnesses of light. She said on August 5, 2011:

“Dear children, also today, in this my great joy, when I see you in such a large number, I desire to call you, and to call all the youth, to participate in the evangelization today of the world; to participate in the evangelization of families…”

What does it say about the visionaries who are still the first believers after 36 years? They have been persecuted, tested, have made countless personal sacrifices, and yet, they continue to give witness, “I’m still a believer.”

Pilgrims from all over the world gather on the top of Apparition Mountain on June 24, 2011, before the prayer group meeting when Our Lady will appear to visionary, Ivan. Those who come to Medjugorje while Ivan is there have the opportunity to be present at a prayer group meeting with Our Lady; an experience one remembers their entire life. The prayer group, which began on July 4, 1982, has been meeting for 27 years. Our Lady has said that every person in the world should belong to a prayer group. “Prayer groups,” Ivan said, “are a protection from the triumph of satan.”

Ivan says Our Lady is, “…talking to the entire world…to all Her children…”

February 2, 1997 was Mirjana’s first public second of the month apparition and since this time, every month on the 2nd, several thousand pilgrims gather with Mirjana to be with Our Lady and to pray for non-believers. Anyone who is in Medjugorje on the second of the month can be present with Our Lady in the apparitions, which are currently held at the Blue Cross on the base of Apparition Mountain. To see Mirjana’s face during the apparitions is to bring to reality the times in which we live, the seriousness of these apparitions and the tremendous burden that rests upon this one woman’s shoulders. In fact, it truly is the weight of a sinful and unbelieving world. Mirjana once said:

“…if you were able to see just once the tears on Our Lady’s face because of unbelievers, I am so certain that you would pray from the bottom of your heart.”

Mirjana, of all six visionaries, was put through the grist mill. Her apparitions ceased December 25, 1982, leaving her at the mercy of tremendous pressure to the communists in Sarajevo. Mirjana never betrayed her belief through many interrogations, while the other visionaries were in Medjugorje and able to support each other. It’s hard not to be a “believer” after being present at one of Mirjana’s second of the month apparitions…sensus fidelium…

It is a grace to hear one of the visionaries speak, as they have spoken with “Heaven.” In an interview in the beginning days of the apparitions, Marija said:

“If everybody could give just a little in return to Our Lady, then we would see the beginning of a change. In everything She asks just a little at first, then that we try more each day. She wants to lead us along a path, to help us grow, and she says that great things come from little beginnings.”

The first secular writing produced on a mass scale about the apparitions, the Reader’s Digest “A Village Sees the Light,” is an excellent tool to introduce people of all faiths to Medjugorje.

The Birmingham News ran the top pictures of the century on Friday, December 31, 1999, at the turn of the century. Visionary, Marija’s, visit to Caritas of Birmingham in December of 1999, was one of the top historical world events when compared to all of the events of the 20th century, such as the flag raising on Iwo Jima, World War II, landing on the moon, etc. Even a secular newspaper judged Marija seeing the Virgin Mary in an Alabama Field among the most significant events throughout all the news in the last 100 years.

Our Lady is behind all turning points from evil into good in this century. Our Lady said January 25, 1997:

“…This time is my time…”

Our Lady said Pope John Paul II was Her Pope and She entrusted him with a special mission for his Pontificate. The “I” is Our Lady…

In 1986: How is Our Lady involved with President Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev in this handshake? Medjugorje visionary, Marija, wrote a letter to President Reagan asking for peace, telling him that the Queen of Peace was appearing. Reagan responded by calling her. Gorbachev was made aware of this personal letter from a visionary and requested a letter himself. Our Lady is not to be kept in the Church locked up. She’s going out among the people, at first behind the scenes, and slowly more visual. The “I” is Our Lady… When communism began to crumble, Medjugorje Ivan said it was one of Our Lady’s plans.

The first meeting of Reagan and John Paul II, they both discussed being shot only 43 days apart. Both came very close to dying. Both discussed in their meeting, they were saved for a purpose. Reagan said he owed the rest of his life to God. They both were born in the same era. They both grew up with a strong aversion to communism. They both were elected 24 months apart – Reagan to the most powerful secular position in the world – John Paul II to the most powerful spiritual position in the world. Before they ended their meeting, they both knew they were spared for a divine plan from Heaven. When the U.S. bishops, at the bishops’ conference, on more than one occasion criticized Reagan, John Paul II silenced the bishops. Reagan believed God had chosen the United States as the hope of mankind. John Paul II actually agreed saying:

“At this present moment in the history of the world, the United States is called above all to fulfill its mission in service of world peace.”

Through these two men, operating under Our Lady’s mantle, Russia fell apart. A cardinal close to John Paul II said, “Nobody believed the collapse of communism would happen this fast on this timetable.”*

She is real. These lyrics were meant for Her. She is screaming out from Heaven. The “I” is Our Lady…

For 30 years the Berlin Wall was the defining symbol of the Cold War, separating “families.” On August 13, 1961, the communist government of East Germany began to build an “antifascist” wall between East and West Berlin to keep fascists out of the socialist state. The Berlin Wall stood until November 9, 1989. Our Lady has shown She can bring down walls and She is here now to tear down more. Visionary, Mirjana, said about Our Lady and the visionaries:

“She revealed to us that God’s plan would ultimately be realized through a series of future events to us with instructions to keep them secret until just before they were to take place.”

The “I” is Our Lady…

Patriotic lovers of their Motherland tore down an enormous statue of Vladimir Lenin in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city on the feast day of Our Lady’s Immaculate Conception, December 8, 2013. The toppling of a monument to a former communist leader creates a visual representation of the people’s hunger for revolution, symbolizing a changing of the guard. God knew our world needed a “changing of the guard,” so He sent His Mother. The “I” is Our Lady…

On February 20, 1991, Albanians remove a bronze statue of the late communist dictator, Enver Hoxha, on the central square of Tirana, Albania. Thousands of patriots cheered from the roofs of surrounding buildings as the last symbol of the communist dictatorship was forcefully removed. Our Lady said on July 25, 2015:

“…My love is stronger than evil…”

Perhaps the most famous statue toppling of modern times occurred in Baghdad, Iraq, on April 9, 2003, when a 39 foot statue of Saddam Hussein was toppled. A United States Marine briefly covered the statue’s head with an American flag before it was hurriedly replaced with an Iraqi one. A chain was wrapped around the statue’s neck and it was pulled over by a United States armored vehicle.

This Time magazine issue is about, according to the cover, the “Holy Alliance” between Pope John Paul II and President Ronald Reagan and goes on to state on the cover, “How Reagan and the Pope conspired to assist Poland’s Solidarity movement and hasten the demise of communism.” By this example one can see, that the secular world even has to admit there was a “holy alliance” that brought evil down. Our Lady said on December 31, 1985:

“…You will not have peace through the presidents but through prayer.”

Prayer put these two men together, and peace for the world was the result.

This is a photograph of a nuclear bomb test by the French in 1969 over the Pacific Island of Mururoa. It was first published by Newsweek magazine the week of June 12, 1989.

Highlighted images help you spot what is clearly Our Lady looking upon Her Son, crucified. Neither the photographer nor Newsweek Magazine was aware of the two images until after it was published and people began to see it. A Friend of Medjugorje wrote Twenty Years of Apparitions, detailing time and time again Our Lady preventing nuclear war and saving the world. Twenty Years of Apparitions was so popular it had to be reprinted over and over, printing over a million copies.

The visible images of Our Lady and Her Son crucified clearly speak that man does not have the capability to manage himself with such power without God governing him, protecting him from self-annihilation. It is very easy to trace God’s management program in regard to these bombs. Our Lady’s activities through Her Son has repeatedly saved the world from nuclear annihilation. The images tell of the future…

Father Jozo Zovko was pastor of St. James Church in Medjugorje in the beginning days of the apparitions. He said in June 1990:

“We have now a war going on against the Cross. People refuse any suffering. They refuse to accept that suffering has a meaning. They refuse their cross. But we shouldn’t be afraid of the Cross. The Cross is healing for us. The Cross of Christ can bring us peace and joy. The Cross of Christ is a protection for us.”

A Caritas Community member photographed this fire on top of Apparition Mountain on September 8, 2008. The fire was crackling loudly as it roared toward Our Lady’s statue, marking the Apparition spot. It was an amazing moment as can be seen by the height of the fire. Most amazing, as the Community members watched, was the fire suddenly died out just before it reached the area of the statue. Our Lady said on March 25, 1990:

“…God wants to save you and sends you messages through men, nature, and so many things which can only help you to understand that you must change the direction of your life…”

The message on this picture is from Our Lady on October 28, 1981, regarding another fire that hundreds of people saw that burned but did not consume anything:

“The fire, seen by the faithful, was of a supernatural character. It is one of the signs, a forerunner of the great sign.”

This is one of the original signs pointing people to the original apparition site in Medjugorje, Apparition Mountain. Our Lady said on June 25, 2010:

“…I desire for you to be my sign, my living sign…”

Our Lady said on June 25, 1992:

“…My presence here is therefore to lead you on a new path, the path of salvation…”

It is always emotional and spiritually satisfying each time you finally reach the top of Apparition Mountain in Medjugorje, the spot chosen over any spot on the earth…to begin the plan to save mankind.

“Take thy shoes off – you are on Holy Ground.”

On the eve of the 30th anniversary of the Medjugorje apparitions during visionary Ivan’s prayer group apparition on June 24, 2011, a Caritas Community member miraculously caught this enormous, incredible lightning bolt in the distance beyond Medjugorje, on camera…lighting up sparks in the hearts of all those present.

The headline in the newspaper above reads: “HEARTBREAK – 2 student gunmen terrorize Columbine High in deadliest school shooting in U.S. history,” to that date.

Thirteen people, 12 students and one teacher, were killed on this fateful day in Littleton, Colorado, when a 17 year-old and 18 year-old senior students went on their shooting spree. More than 20 other people were injured in the shooting. The heartbreak on the faces of these students is evident because of the loss of their loved ones who were killed. Several of those who were shot were asked if they believed in God. Cassie, a new Christian who accepted Christ only a few weeks before, was found hiding under a table and was approached by the killers and asked, “Do you believe in God?” Cassie closed her eyes and was silent for a moment, as if praying, and then looked at the killers and said, “Yes.” They shot and killed her. Will you be ready and strengthened enough to say “yes” to be martyred? Or take the apostate path and say “no”?

While the students from Columbine High that were shot most likely earned Eternal Life, those left here grieved about the evil that they witnessed. On November 25, 1997, a little over two years before the Columbine massacre, those who believed in God, Our Lady said:

“Dear children! Today I invite you to comprehend your Christian vocation. Little children, I led and am leading you through this time of grace, that you may become conscious of your Christian vocation. Holy martyrs died witnessing: I am a Christian and love God over everything…”

“All authority is from God.” In 2016, we saw an increasing satanic hatred for authority which manifested in attacks on police.

Our Lady Queen of Peace said on July 30, 1987:

“…Many people now live without faith; some don’t even want to hear about Jesus, but they still want peace and satisfaction! Children, here is the reason why I need your prayer: prayer is the only way to save mankind.”

Individuals and families gather in prayer late Friday evening, August 10, 2012, for a meeting of hearts between Heaven and earth. Where were you tonight? A Friend of Medjugorje witnessed Our Lady calling the youth up the mountain to pray on Friday nights while other youth around the world were partying and being frivolous. Parents, along with society, do not expect youth should be praying on a Friday night. Yet, the Queen Mother’s example, calling them to the mountain to sing and pray, says this is precisely what should be done.

Our Lady of Medjugorje, March 18, 1996:

“…My eyes and my heart will be here, even when I will no longer appear…”

The Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus, stands amidst thousands of pilgrims in the Field of Apparitions at Caritas in Alabama. However, only Medjugorje visionary, Marija Lunetti, sees Her with the eyes, the Queen of Heaven, physically standing before her, while Marija presents the Consecration of the United States, to the Queen of Peace.

On July 3, 2008, in Alabama, Medjugorje visionary Marija said to pilgrims gathered immediately after her apparition, “I think we must pray very much in these next 24 hours for your nation.” Marija stayed in the Field until well after midnight with everyone gathered.

The Tabernacle of Our Lady’s Messages. Conceived through prayer, a Friend of Medjugorje believed Medjugorje must have a depository, a place of preservation of Our Lady’s messages, plans and actions of what Our Lady did in Her last apparitions on earth. The Tabernacle of Our Lady’s Messages is a sacred place to work and visit. It is a physical instrument, helping through God’s grace for the conversion of millions of people in the present, and hundreds of millions in the future, which will result into billions who will convert through Our Lady’s plans and messages. The Tabernacle of Our Lady’s Messages is alive in spreading many, many plans going through its doors, transmitting Her messages to the ends of the earth.

In the future many will ask Our Lady’s apostles, “What was it like to be there? What was it like to be before Our Lady in an apparition? What was it like to be there in the Time of Grace?” For them it will be too late. It will only be a dream. For those who respond now, it will be an eternal grace never forgotten. The Tabernacle of Our Lady’s Messages is a place of life: life of prayer, life of family, life of consecrated singles, life of babies growing up, life of all the spectrums of life, because Our Lady established through a Friend of Medjugorje and his wife a Way of Life – a Way of Life for people around the world to incorporate into their own life wherever they live.

She is the believer, the first Christian, and is coming to prepare the world for the Second Coming as Jesus said, “When the Son of Man [returns to the earth], will He find faith on earth?”

Every second of each month, people gather in vigil, high up on a mountain, from late afternoon until 8:00 a.m. the next morning praying, waiting, anticipating throughout the night.

Croatians have a long tradition of processing through the streets for the Feast of Corpus Christi. Families and pilgrims from all four hamlets, including Medjugorje, flow through the streets; a strong ‘raging’ river of faith.

A heart shape in the road after a rain is one of many things that are given just at the right time for someone who is walking by, thinking about their broken heart and by seeing such a grace, they experience conversion. These signs are not happen-chance, rather are holy chance. These signs are spread across the holy ground of Medjugorje. A Friend of Medjugorje has stated:

The motif was designed by a Friend of Medjugorje in 2012 in conjunction with his book, They Fired the First Shot 2012TM.

Members of the Community of Caritas unloaded a truck load of items for setup, decoration, and evangelization materials for the “Patriotic Rosary,” to be prayed for our nation’s future, and for the election just 22 days later. In addition, all across America at the same moment, 12:00 p.m.,15,000 different groups were praying at rosary rallies. Many of them were praying the “Patriotic Rosary”!

I wanted to witness that my husband and I hopped on a plane last Fall as soon as we read that a Friend of Medjugorje put a call out to join Caritas in prayer for our nation at Independence Hall in Philadelphia. We were so grateful to be part of that day of prayer, and the program that the Community, including the children, provided for the day was nothing short of miraculous. It was beautiful, powerful and holy…There were many people there and I am sure myriads of angels with us as well as many of our forefathers who were present spiritually! We never have experienced anything so powerful. I had no doubts that God heard our prayers and His Will would be done for our country…It was one of the most sacred and beautiful days of our lives. God heard our prayers and answered us!

A few years ago, a Friend of Medjugorje was the first to put out the call to take the rainbow back.

“…Special graces come from the Cross. Consecrate yourselves to the Cross…”

Climbing the mountain, pilgrims feel the grace dispensed from this Cross. A mystical place where a Friend of Medjugorje prayed for over 25 years to build and erect, not a symbolic Cross, but one through which graces can be received.

Every Sunday the Community prays the Rosary in a Friend of Medjugorje’s writing office in the Tabernacle of Our Lady’s Messages and picks, at random, a message of Our Lady from Words From Heaven for him and another message for his wife. This message is theirs to meditate on and live for the upcoming week. On February 3, 2013, his message for the week was:

July 25, 1989

“Dear children, today I am calling you to renew your heart. Open yourself to God and surrender to Him all your difficulties and crosses so God may turn everything into joy. Little children, you cannot open yourselves to God if you do not pray; therefore, from today decide to consecrate ‘a time’ and ‘a day’ only for an encounter with God in silence. In that way you will be able, with God, to witness my presence here. Little children, I do not wish to force you; rather, freely give God your time, like children of God. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Upon reading his week’s message, a Friend of Medjugorje felt a call to go up in the mountain behind the Field of Apparitions to pray and designate a time, a whole day, for an encounter with God in silence. That day came a couple of weeks later. Walking miles of terrain through the day, a clarity of thought in his heart manifested. By the end of the day he knew why God had called him up the mountain. He saw, after 25 years, now was the time to build the Cross. The Cross was not in his mind at all because he had given up on the idea, as the owner of the land had repeatedly said “no,” and did not want to be asked anymore. But through the Sunday night message the Community picked for him, that led to the encounter of God when he followed the urge to climb the mountain, he could not deny that this was the moment. A Friend of Medjugorje left the mountain believing that the Cross was to be built, but how could he approach the owner after being told, very decidedly, “Don’t bother me again.” A Friend of Medjugorje found himself in the uncomfortable position of God showing him what to do, yet with no foreseeable ability to make it happen. Two weeks later, he was still wrestling in his prayer of how it could happen. But, within a few more days, God moved in a way that he never could have expected. The owner of the land called a Friend of Medjugorje! The owner cracked open the door himself and a Friend of Medjugorje got his foot in and never pulled it out. God arranged everything and the Cross was built! God called a Friend of Medjugorje to build the Cross. It was a contradiction for him. God saying, “Build the Cross” vs. the owner who had said, “Don’t ever speak to me again about it!” But as it turned out, a Friend of Medjugorje’s apprehension to contact the owner was also from God. It was God’s way of delaying a Friend of Medjugorje from contacting him. A Friend of Medjugorje realized God may call you to do something and then block it at the same time. It is a contradiction, saying “go forth” – “no, stop.” One cannot always understand God’s ways, until it is fulfilled. And then, one looks back in wonder at the works of God!

“I love the cross which you have providentially erected…”

The Twin Towers – World Trade Center – in New York City, New York, burn and smoke after being hit by the two airplanes piloted by radical Islamic terrorists on September 11, 2001.

The face of satan appears in the smoke of one of the burning Twin Towers – The World Trade Center – after the two planes crashed into them. The clear face of satan is visible in the photograph. A Friend of Medjugorje, instructed someone from Caritas of Birmingham, to personally contact the Associated Press in New York City to verify that the picture had not been doctored. They stated that they have a strict policy that no picture can be doctored or altered. They confirmed with sources of the Associated Press the authenticity of the photograph.

Because of the many inquiries in regard to this picture of the World Trade Center after the attack, they put out a memo to members of the Associated Press clarifying the photo was untouched. The photographer himself did not know of the image until others began calling him. The image obviously does not need clarification.

Almost exactly ten years before the World Trade Center attack on September 11, 2001, Our Lady said:

September 25, 1991

“…satan wants to show the world his shameful face…”

Community of Caritas children crown the statue of Our Lady of Grace, that is surrounded by thousands of candles, flowers and petitions, in the Field of Apparitions in Alabama before the apparition of Our Lady to visionary, Marija, near 10:00 p.m. Our Lady gave a very important message, a message that was simple, but amazed we who were present, in that Our Lady actually gave and told us a formula with a solution for the healing of the United States.

Our Lady appeared to Marija a little bit before 10:00 p.m., on July 3, 2012, in the Field of Apparitions. The apparition lasted 6 minutes. Marija said that,
“Our Lady prayed over us for a long time and She blessed us and all of our religious articles.” Our Lady then gave the following message:

“Form and make prayer groups through which we will pray for your healing and the healing of this nation to draw closer to God and to me.”

Marija said that Our Lady then prayed over us for our healing and the healing of this country.

A Friend of Medjugorje, from the very beginning, took many pictures of Medjugorje and its events. He always guides the Community to think “out-of-the-box” when taking pictures. Caritas takes more than 10,000 pictures a year. A Friend of Medjugorje holds the mission to a standard that we only take stills, no videos. “Stills,” he said, “capture history. They are frozen moments and, when studied, speak more than videos ever will.”

In this apparition at the Blue Cross in Medjugorje on September 2, 2011, visionary, Mirjana, went into ecstasy around 8:43 a.m. Our Lady’s presence could be detected by the way Mirjana slowly lifted her head and began to smile.

September 2, 2011, 8:46 a.m. It is an amazing grace to be able to look into the eyes of the ones who are looking into the eyes of the Queen of Heaven.

September 2, 2011, 8:48 a.m. When studying Mirjana’s eyes, we have discovered, that you can usually see the silhouette and the reflection of the Blue Cross in her eyes.

Even more amazing than seeing the Blue Cross, however, we discovered the silhouette of Our Lady beside the Cross.

This discovery is profound, because it shows Our Lady next to the Cross, as She was on Good Friday. She is always by Her Son.

These are the words Mirjana was hearing as we were peering into her eyes:

September 2, 2011

“Dear children; with all my heart and soul full of faith and love in the Heavenly Father, I gave my Son to you and am giving Him to you anew. My Son has brought you, the people of the entire world, to know the only true God and His love. He has led you on the way of truth and made you brothers and sisters. Therefore, my children, do not wander, do not close your heart before that truth, hope and love. Everything around you is passing and everything is falling apart, only the glory of God remains. Therefore, renounce everything that distances you from the Lord. Adore Him alone, because He is the only true God. I am with you and I will remain with you. I am especially praying for the shepherds that they may be worthy representatives of my Son and may lead you with love on the way of truth. Thank you.”

This apparition, of September 2, 2011, ended around 8:49 a.m.

Just as the Cross on Mt. Krizevac stands as a beacon of faith and hope in Medjugorje, Medjugorje is a beacon of faith and hope in the world.

Iraqi children in joy, unconcerned of the instability and lack of peace around them when they are surrounded by peace-keeping troops, follow this American soldier as if he’s their big brother.

Significantly, when LIFE Magazine did a story on “Miracles, The Presence of God in Our Lives,” the cover features Our Lady. Unbeknownst to the authors, this is Her Time, and many miracles are granted through Her intercession. In 1991, LIFE chose Caritas’ BVM Pilgrimages to go with to capture Medjugorje and its graces.

Shockingly, LIFE Magazine titles their article on Our Lady, “Mary, Blessed Art Thou Among Women.” Women in the world today need Our Lady. Women need Her witness, Her example, Her love.

The secular world acknowledges that while the saying used to be, “W.W.J.D.? – What Would Jesus Do?” In Her time, it can now be said, “W.W.M.D.? – What Would Mary Do?“

To most “cradle Catholics” Our Lady is part of the prayer equation, but throughout the last century more and more religions are beginning to understand just how powerful Her intercession is.

Even those who oppose God and stand for the ways of the world, cannot help but acknowledge Our Lady. Both the good and the bad find something beautiful in Her face.

In National Geographic’s own words, “Mary” is “The Most Powerful Woman in the World.” Through this small sampling of magazine covers (there are more) one can see that Mary’s efficacy is growing. This is Her Time. She is real.

Not falling in a jubilee year, unexpectedly Pope Francis called for an Extraordinary Year of Mercy in 2016, opening the Holy Doors at St. Peter’s Basilica and at Cathedrals and Churches around the world.

Through a miraculous course of several events, a Friend of Medjugorje met with Pope John Paul II on January 30, 1997. The Pope was known to have a great love and devotion for the Blessed Mother. The two of them conversed about Medjugorje, where a Friend of Medjugorje was from and of the way of life Our Lady is giving. A Friend of Medjugorje spoke of Our Lady’s Community and its work. He took a Words From Heaven book and Pope John Paul II then questioned him about Medjugorje and his work. John Paul II expressed to a Friend of Medjugorje about his interest in the “Bible Belt” of the United States, and that he has it in his heart to visit a Marian Shrine and the South. He was very disposed to a Friend of Medjugorje. The Holy Father told him, “I give you a blessing,” making the Sign of the Cross on his forehead. Then he placed his hands on a Friend of Medjugorje’s head and gave a blessing, saying, “This is for your family.” When they finished, the Holy Father began to leave, then he stopped and turned around and said he would depart a blessing on the Community. A Friend of Medjugorje dropped to his knees and the Holy Father spread his arms out over a Friend of Medjugorje and imparted a prayer and a blessing over the Community.

As in Biblical times, God sometimes uses the most unlikely men to fulfill His most important plans.

Melania Trump, First Lady of the United States in a private meeting with ‘The’ First Lady of the United States, the Virgin Mary, to Whom the United States of America was consecrated upon its founding. Stop and stare. Understand ‘well’ the signs of the times. We have the First Lady of the Nation that leads the world, in the White House, praying to the Virgin Mary, Mother of God, the First Lady of Heaven. The role of wife and mother is a powerful role when lived in God’s order; in ‘sub’ (under) mission as a helpmate to her husband’s mission. A wife who does this has her husband’s heart…and his ear. So goes the United States, so goes the world. This picture is a message and a sign of hope.

“Medjugorje is Real.” The boldest statement ever made regarding the Medjugorje apparitions, given by A Friend of Medjugorje, which has empowered millions of believers across the world and has become the motto of all true Medjugorje believers.

Recently a Friend of Medjugorje has been more forward stating that, “Medjugorje is real.” He is the first to boldly proclaim this. Since his first trips to Medjugorje in 1986, a Friend of Medjugorje has contemplated the magnitude of Medjugorje as a real ‘place’ where the Virgin Mary has come, in the flesh, to ‘dwell among us’ today. He has always seen Medjugorje as Our Lady’s Holy Land, where She walks the earth. She is real. Medjugorje is Her Israel. Therefore, Medjugorje Is real. Medjugorje is Israel. When writing the script for the opening presentation, a Friend of Medjugorje revealed and defined Medjugorje as no one else. Encourage everyone to begin pronouncing, “Medjugorje is real.” We don’t have to apologize for it.
