“Joseph’s Advice to Jesus”

Feast of the Espousal of Our Lady to St. Joseph
January 23, 2019 A.D.

What follows is lengthy. It is being released today, on the Feast of the Espousal of Our Lady to St. Joseph. These are never before released revelations which a Friend of Medjugorje began to put the pieces of the puzzle together, for things which will happen in our future. What follows, began on the December 26, 2018, Radio WAVE broadcast. Here, a Friend of Medjugorje reveals the future of the family and our world. Following this, a special movement of prayer is beginning on January 25, in which all are being called to take part. – Medjugorje.com

54-Day Novena Prayers, Preparing the Way for St. Joseph & the Rebirth and Revelation of Fatherhood in the World

Many people read and follow the books, The Poem of the Man-God, by Maria Valtorta, around the world, and many more will in the future. Many private revelations are rejected in the beginning, but these private revelations given by Jesus and Mary through this Italian mystic, are fresh from the 40s and 50s and are allowed to be read by the faithful. In time, as people read them, believe in them, become priests and bishops through them, you will see Valtorta and her writings validated. Right now, the Church says we can read them as faithful Catholics; they just cannot be declared supernatural. However, the more people read and follow them, the more spiritual fruit will come through them and the Church will eventually make further positive judgments of them. That is how the Church operates.

There is much spiritual wisdom contained within the pages of The Poem of the Man-God. They are Biblical and filled with good teachings. We can say with confidence that these writings will be approved in the future as private revelations from Jesus and Our Lady. And, of course, they became extremely popular through Medjugorje. Medjugorje visionary, Marija, asked Our Lady about The Poem of the Man God on behalf of some seminarians in 1982-83, because they were told that they could not be read. Our Lady responded by strongly encouraging the faithful to read them by a simple four word message from Our Lady, “You can read them.” Our Lady would never have said that if it was not meant to be an endorsement by Her. These books give the spiritual slant to help one understand Our Lady’s Medjugorje messages. These dictations of Jesus, given to Valtorta in the 40’s, are related to and a forerunner for the Medjugorje apparitions, beginning in 1981. These volumes are a major tool God has given us to pave the way and for going through the years of apparitions to better comprehend why Our Lady is here and to grasp and find more insights in Her messages.

We have just celebrated Christmas. Jesus came in human form. He was born within a family, the Holy Family. In The Poem of the Man-God, Jesus says that He didn’t regret leaving Heaven because of the love He was surrounded by in the love of Mary and Joseph.

Of all the titles Our Lady has been given by the Church, the last She received was given on May 5, 1917. That is just over 100 years ago. What was that title? It was, “Our Lady, Queen of Peace,” the title Our Lady gave Herself when the visionaries of Medjugorje asked “the Woman” Who She was. She said on August 6, 1981, “I am the Queen of Peace.” God lays the soil out, ploughs it, plants the seed in it, and grows the seed. The apparitions of Fatima, Portugal, grew Our Lady’s importance in the world. In Fatima, She prophesied that after World War I, a far greater war would break out. Our Lady also taught the Fatima visionaries the following prayer: “O my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of Thy Mercy.” Why that prayer? Because we have so much assailing us from satan. We don’t even have the wisdom or the awareness when satan is getting into our thoughts. The presence of satan is so alive that we do not realize his influence over us, because it is normal each day and throughout our days. How? Where? satan makes so much use of modernism, consumerism, materialism, science, advancements, etc., that he has become master over the whole world. Through man’s lack of prayer, man cannot perceive satan, much less discern his actions in our daily walk.

Now, however, we are being made aware, that we are living in a special time given to Our Lady. Our Lady said:

January 25, 1997

“…This time is my time…”

With this being Our Lady’s time, She is increasingly speaking about, in Her messages, Her own thoughts and feelings that She experienced in Her life. But, one area She has said little about is Her life with St. Joseph. Is this because Joseph is unimportant in this time, or is it that Our Lady is waiting for a specific time to reveal more about this spouse whom She so loved and who gave of his entire self to care and protect Jesus and Herself? There are indications that Our Lady, from Medjugorje, will reveal things about St. Joseph before the end of Her apparitions. A recent decree from the Vatican helps to confirm this as well. Whenever you see the Church initiate something, you know that the Holy Spirit is moving the Church towards something in the future. On May 1, 2013, Pope Francis, in the first decree of a liturgical nature in his pontificate, declared that the name of St. Joseph should be added to the Eucharistic prayers II, III and IV as they appear in the Roman Missal, after the name of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Do not mistake that this action is for our present day. Rather, it is for the future. I can say this because I know of things that are going to happen in the future through Medjugorje.

Medjugorje visionary, Vicka, has filled three notebooks about the life of Our Lady that Our Lady revealed to her in the early years of the apparitions. Medjugorje visionary, Ivanka, also has stories about Our Lady. What do you think is going to be revealed? I can tell you strongly what I believe. It is going to be about the Virgin Mary and Joseph. There will be things we have never known before about their relationship and their life together. Why do I believe that this will be an essential part of Our Lady’s revelation given to the Medjugorje visionaries? Ask yourself, what is the whole world thirsting for today? Family. With the exception of before Noah and the Flood, never in the history of the world have people known so little of what “true family” is. What are the causes of the problems in the family today? We can look at different writings, different private revelations, such as The Poem of the Man-God, that shed light on the problems in the family today.

In Volume I of The Poem of the Man God, under the chapter heading, “The First Working Lessons to Jesus,” Jesus said:

“Joseph was the head of the family, and as such, his authority was undisputed and indisputable: Before it the Spouse and Mother of God bent reverently and the Son of God submitted Himself willingly. Whatever Joseph decided to do, was well done: There were no discussions…no oppositions. His word was our little law.”1

How many families live this way? How many people really understand this? How many people will adopt this into their families? This lesson, I believe, will be expanded upon in the writings of Vicka and Ivanka, because the most holy way of living is found in the family. We have individuals in marriages wanting to exercise authority, with nobody teaching obedience. Authority is God-given, and one has to be receiving that authority and reciprocating obedience to it. How do children learn to be obedient and follow authority if their mother is competing with her husband for authority, or domineering over him on certain questions, or completely dominating over him because she thinks he is an idiot or unqualified, or she thinks she knows better, etc.?

I know there are a lot of good wives out there who have done everything they can to honor their husband’s authority, and they suffer because their husband is unconverted. Yet, as a believing wife, she is to lead her husband to salvation by becoming perfect herself. Instead, many women do the opposite and want to dominate their husbands and wrestle over his authority because they believe their wisdom is superior to their husband’s. Our Lady, in The Poem of the Man God, chastises and cautions such women. Reading these passages will help us understand not only Who Our Lady is, but also who Joseph is. Our Lady said:

“I wish to draw the attention of wives to one point. Too many marriages break up through the fault of women, who do not possess that love, which is everything: kindness, pity and solace to their husbands…”2

I didn’t say that, but I know that. I discovered this truth through Our Lady’s messages and through the experiences and cognition gained in over 32 years of counseling people, and in writing such writings as, How to Change Your Husband, Whose Opinion is Right? And The Painful Truth, etc. Our Lady goes on to say:

“…The physical suffering that lies heavy on women does not lie heavily on men. But all the moral worries do: necessities of work, decisions to be taken, responsibilities before the established authorities and one’s own family…Oh! How many things weigh on man! And how much comfort he also needs! And yet, a woman’s selfishness is such that she adds the weight of useless and sometimes unfair complaints to the burden of her tired, disheartened, worried husband. And all this because she is selfish. She does not love. Love is not the satisfaction of one’s senses and utility. To love is to satisfy him whom we love, beyond senses and utility, giving him the help he needs so that he may always be able to keep his wings open to the skies of hope and peace.”3

God’s authority is placed upon the husband and father of the family. When a woman comes into harmony with that, she is giving an example that she follows the leader of the family to her children. It doesn’t matter if he doesn’t read the Bible. It doesn’t matter what he does or does not know of spiritual things. You are teaching a Biblical principle to your children when you follow your husband’s wants. Is he going to be selfish? He might be. But she is still teaching the children and witnessing to them to obey, and obedience to authority will bring blessing and wholeness to their lives.

There are too many wives objecting to their husbands, child-centered mothers, helicopter moms, who are doing great damage. Mary never did that to Joseph. Never. And look Who She is. She is the most exalted Creature in Heaven. She is higher even than the angels, above everyone, and yet, She put Herself underneath a man, a husband. And God reinforced that to Her. At the Annunciation, the angel came to Our Lady. But later, once Mary became betrothed to Joseph, the angel came to Joseph to warn of the danger to Jesus. Why? Because the authority over Mary changed to Joseph. Mary was to follow him and his guidance. How did She respond to this change? She didn’t say, “Joseph, I’m not going to pay attention to what you say. I’m the Virgin prophesied in Scripture. I’m the one the angel came to announcing I was going to bear God Himself.” No. She submitted to what Joseph said, willingly, because Joseph’s word was “their” little law. Who does “their” refer to? That word “their” refers to Jesus and Mary. God submitted Himself to a human man. Why? Because he carried God’s authority, and authority does not always have to be right. It has to be obeyed. If a man makes a decision that may only bring about 60% good fruit, obedience to that decision increases the fruit to 100%. And this is true also for your childrens’ hearts, because they learn to be centered around the husband, centered around the father. The mother does not lose respect from this submission, but gains a deeper love and respect from her children. This structure of the family brings unity, the capability of being unified, and if anything breaks, the husband, or the father, can bring peace to the situation, even if he is not a perfect peacemaker. You teach that. Read the following very, very carefully, both the Bible verse from the Book of Sirach and the statement that follows immediately after the verse from Sirach. They should not only be studied, but the principles of what it means should be memorized, because within these verses is the makeup of what children will retain for their success and stability, or their failure and instability, for the rest of their lives.

Sirach 3:8-11

“Honor your father in action and word so that a blessing will come from him to you, since a father’s blessing supports his children’s families, but a mother’s curse undermines their foundations. Don’t glorify yourself in your father’s disgrace, because your father’s disgrace brings you no credit. A father’s honor is the starting point for his children’s reputation, and a mother in disrepute is a disgrace to her children.”

For women who want to highlight the negatives, who want to regularly demean their husbands, it is to your demise and your childrens’ demise. That is the power of the perspective the wife/mother gives to her children. You should never condemn your husband or lower esteem for him. You should never talk him down. You should never bring him down, no matter what he does, because you then will bring your children to that same low degree of esteem for themselves. That is why it was stated that the perspective of the children is the mirror of the perspective of the wife/mother.

The fact is that many husbands are berated and usurped by their wives. Even if this is done infrequently, it is still very damaging to a child, older children and also to the husband. To repeat, so to understand greater the seriousness of this, children that are harmed in this way can be afflicted for the rest of their lives. But what if the husband is a drunk? Then you say to your children: “Your father desires the good for you. But he has a weakness he can’t overcome. We must pray for him. You are here because of your father. Inside his heart, he is a good man who loves you. God will take care of us.”

Our Lady said to Medjugorje visionary, Jakov, on December 25, 2018:

“…Do not be afraid to believe in His love and mercy, because His love [God’s, the Father] is stronger than every one of your weaknesses…”

Our Lady didn’t say, “His love is stronger than your weaknesses.” She said, “…His love is stronger than every one…” Every single one.

“…Therefore, my children, full of love in your hearts, trust in Jesus and say your ‘yes’ to Him…”

You say ‘yes’ to your Father, Heavenly Father, and you say ‘yes’ to your husband, the father of the family, and the children will say ‘yes’ to you, and through that unity, you can bring God to them because they see how you forgive, they see how you live with him even with his defects. You are not there to give your husband a report card for your children. Our Lady has said, “…Nothing is by chance…” September 2, 2016 So, you say to your children, “Your father is who we have, and we are to praise him and honor him.” That is your teaching, your witness, and your healing.

So, what does Our Lady wish to teach us about St. Joseph? In The Poem of the Man-God, Volume 1, Our Lady says this about Joseph:

“[Joseph] should be appointed protector not only of dying people, of married couples, of workmen, but also of those consecrated to God. Who, of all the people in the world consecrated to the service of God, has consecrated himself as he did, to the service of his God, accepting everything, foregoing everything, bearing everything, fulfilling everything with quickness, with a cheerful mind [and] a constant humor…”4

Did you read that? Of all the consecrated in the world, no one has ever consecrated themselves as Joseph did himself to the service of God. Our Lady ends this above quoted passage from The Poem of the Man God, saying:

“…There is no one like him.”5

I think we are going to be learning a lot of new things about St. Joseph. Why? Because we need this for women to understand how Our Lady reacted to St. Joseph. Though She was “full of grace,” a Being with superior wisdom, yet, She put Herself completely underneath Joseph, as the voice of God for Her, obediently. And even bigger than that, Jesus Christ bound Himself to this foster father. These are amazing things and happenings if you enter into them. And, again, Our Lady said there is no one like St. Joseph.

As mentioned, there are certain signs Our Lady has given, through Medjugorje, that leads one to think that in future days, we will be given a window into the life of St. Joseph as never before. I say that because we know that the date, March 18th, holds great significance for the future, according to Medjugorje visionary, Mirjana, who sees Our Lady every year on that date. It’s a special apparition, her annual apparition. What do we know about that? Though it is Mirjana’s birthday, she has always stated that Our Lady is not appearing to her because it’s her birthday, but because of a special event that will take place on that day in the future. Something is going to happen on that date. Why is that important? Because the feast of St. Joseph is March 19th! The eve of March 19th is March 18th, the vigil for St. Joseph’s feast day.

We have learned in watching the actions of Our Lady over the past 37 years of the apparitions in Medjugorje that the vigils of feast days are important. In 1981, Our Lady appeared on June 24th, which became the vigil of Her feast day of June 25th, the feast of Our Lady, Queen of Peace. One is not more important than another—both days are celebrated in conjunction with each other. It is the same with Our Lady’s August 5th birthday. The celebration of Her birthday begins the evening before, on the vigil of Her birthday. When Medjugorje visionary, Marija, has come here for the Consecration of the United States of America, July 4th, in the years 2008, 2009, 2012 & 2013, Our Lady honors both the vigil, July 3rd, and the actual feast day of July 4th with special apparitions and has even given Her message on the night of the vigil on a couple of occasions, rather than the actual feast day. These are only a few proofs to say that March 18th is indeed significant in the future because it is the vigil of the Feast of St. Joseph. This is a happening, in waiting, to reflect upon. This is a great event because of the need for the return of the respect of fatherhood, the need to understand what a father is, even if he is not perfect. There are so many lessons about the family because everything comes through it. God Himself came through the family. God Himself could have made Jesus a grown man. He did Adam that way; why not the Messiah? Why did God make Jesus a child, placing Him in a family? Certainly He did so to make Jesus our Brother, Mary our Mother and God our Father, but also the extra good is the value of the witness of Mary and Joseph to help families learn holiness and love according to the design of God.

This man, Joseph, is needed today. Our Lady has come for 37 years in the Medjugorje apparitions to show us what “mother” is, and through Her, we are going to learn about Joseph, who he is and what “father” is. Jesus knows who Joseph is. When Jesus was headed towards Jerusalem and the Cross, Joseph of Arimathea, the Pharisee, came to Him and said, “Don’t go to Jerusalem.” It is amazing in The Poem of the Man-God what Jesus told him. He kindly rebuked him. He said, “That’s not what Joseph [Jesus’ foster father) would say.”6 Jesus tells Joseph of Arimathea:

“Goodbye, Joseph. Be just. Just like him who was My guardian for so many years…Holy servant of God!…A new Abraham, with a broken heart, but with perfect will, he would not have advised Me to be cowardly.”7

In other words, Joseph would have said to Jesus, “Go on to Via Dolorosa.” Joseph instilled in Jesus not to be cowardly. Go into the ambush of the Crucifixion. And Jesus continues saying what Joseph, His foster father, would advise Him when it came time for Jesus to face His Passion:

“[Joseph] would have spoken the words that he used to utter when anything painful weighed heavily on us [the Holy Family]…”8

And then Jesus repeats the prayer that Joseph, his foster father, taught Him as a child growing up into a man; He prayed:

“…‘Let us raise our spirits. We shall meet the yes of God and we shall forget that it is through men who grieve us. And let us do whatever is burdensome, as if the Most High presented it to us. In this way, we shall sanctify also the least things, and God will love us.’…”9

That was the prayer. And Jesus added:

“…Oh! He would have said so also to comfort Me to suffer the deepest sorrows…He would have comforted us…Oh! My Mother…”10

This man, Joseph, is going to come into our future even more, through Medjugorje, because he is the third part of the Holy Family, a small reflection of a trinity, who will remind the world how to bring holiness back into the family. It is through the proper exchange from the wife to the husband, the husband to the wife, and the couple to the children—one exercising authority, one obeying it, and the children looking up to both of these examples to be followed. It is a holy way of living that we have desecrated, through usurping the authority of God through selfishness, illustrated by what Our Lady said, that was already quoted from The Poem of the Man God:

“…Too many marriages break up through the fault of women, who do not possess that love, which is everything: kindness, pity and solace to their husbands…” 11

It has become a tragedy for the world.

Could it be possible that God, the Father, who placed within Creation such order to the minutest detail that we can predict a sunrise 100 years from now to the second, that He would not have placed a mechanism to resolve conflicts between a husband and his wife? In fact, it is impossible for the God of perfect order not to give a clear cut resolution to bring peace. A thorough explanation of how to bring peace when disputes and division have entered into marriage is given in the book, How to Change Your Husband: Owners Manual for the Family, which breaks open Scripture and Our Lady’s messages in order to learn how God ordered the family, and why and what happens when that order is not followed. It is critically important to repeat the following passage from the Book of Sirach already expressed, to reiterate what is lost when the father is not honored. And since a child’s view of his father is shaped by his mother, the mother has the power to undermine the child’s foundation. This will lead to the disrepute of the mother. She, herself, will lose the esteem of her children, as well as the children will lose their own self-esteem. If you still do not believe it, nor accept it, you clearly are rejecting what is in Sirach in the Bible. The word “disrepute” as mentioned in the passage below means: the state of being held in low esteem.

Sirach 3:8-11

“Honor your father in action and word so that a blessing will come from him to you, since a father’s blessing supports his childrens’ families, but a mother’s curse undermines their foundations. Don’t glorify yourself in your father’s disgrace, because your father’s disgrace brings you no credit. A father’s honor is the starting point for his childrens’ reputation, and a mother in disrepute is a disgrace to her children.”

Contemplate these things, follow Our Lady, follow St. Joseph, follow the Bible and it will lead to Jesus. For those women who have been striving to honor their husbands in following this way of Our Lady, but who have had little consolation from their unbelieving husbands, do not lose heart. Realize that your suffering has great value in the hands of Our Lady. It is the time of your purification, as you learn to live the Will of God, day by day. The Will of God is your sanctification and will lead to your husband’s conversion. If all Heaven rejoices over one soul who is saved, what will be the reward of those wives (and/or husbands), who by their witness of love to their spouses were responsible for leading that soul to Heaven? Great will be their reward for all Eternity.

With Love of Order,
A Friend of Medjugorje

“Preparing the Way for St. Joseph & the Rebirth and
Revelation of Fatherhood in the World”

St. Joseph

A painting of St. Joseph instructing the Child Jesus, which hangs in the Bedroom of Apparitions at Caritas. St. Joseph is intimately tied to the Caritas history and the life of a Friend of Medjugorje.

Our Lady has often inspired a movement of prayer in anticipation of a coming grace, using the prayers to begin preparing the soil of peoples’ hearts to receive the seed of grace about to be given. Acting upon the belief that March 18th is connected to St. Joseph in some way, a Friend of Medjugorje is initiating a 54-Day Rosary Novena beginning on January 25, 2019, and ending on March 19, 2019, St. Joseph’s Feast Day, for the Rebirth and Revelation of Fatherhood in the World. This is a “message to message” novena in which Our Lady will be giving a message on January 25 and March 18, the vigil of St. Joseph’s Feast Day. If you receive this after January 25th, join with us in praying the novena, but continue with the novena beyond the March 19th date until you have finished the 54 days. The 54-Day Rosary Novena prayers can be downloaded free here, or ordered online in booklet form here.

  1. On the time when she will talk about St. Joseph, is the day his body is found. For it is suppose to be found in the end days, for many graces shall be poured forth when it is discovered. Yes its un-corrupted. Now where he is buried, Im unsure to specific location, it could be near Nazareth, where he died, or he’s in Bethlehem, where a old church is, he was carried there by early Christians, but not sure if that was early Christians or later on. Anne Catherine Emmerich visions, in Bernardo books of them either in her life, life of mary or also in Life of Christ, she points this out, but either she wasn’t allowed to say exactly where or was not shown it, i can remember which. But that’s probably the reason why she’s mum on that part. Also St Joseph is not only protector of Mary and Jesus, but he is also the one sitting at Jesus’s lower left with Mary at lower right. He is the prime minister in Heaven, Peter was given it since St Joseph was dead. Take a look at those visions books.

Terrific 54 rosary ! I also searched and found the origin and development of the ” Hail Mary” that tie in.

  4. Thank you once again for bringing light to so many that are in the dark! Your book, “How to Change Your Husband” saved my marriage many times over! The “Poem of Man God” is a Must Read for everyone! When I read this book, I feel like I am actually walking with Jesus and his disciples! I have prayed the 54 Day Rosary Novena (with Beautiful Meditations) several times! I am very excited to be praying with everyone beginning this Friday! As a Mother, Wife & Grandmother, I can affirm the Absolute Truths in all that is written in this article! I feel that by Putting these words/truths into action, God Has been able to bring peace into Our Home! Thank you “A Friend of Medjugorje” & “Community of Caritas” for helping save my Marriage, which in turn, saved my Family! May God Bless you all!

  5. Thank you so much for these insights to strengthen the family, my family. We celebrate the feast of St Joseph in our diocese by preparing an alter of food and re-enact the night Jesus was born. The money collected from those attending is given to the poor. I grew up doing this even alters in the home. St Joseph is very much a part of my life. The Holy Family has been our model for our family. I have read the book you suggested and have changed many ways in myself that bore fruit. Thank you for writing it! I always thought of myself as a traditional woman and I am, but I am a product of the 60s and 70s so I had to shed some ways I adopted from that culture. So those of you who want the holiness Our Lady is offering read that book it will amaze you how it makes order in the family and brings grace. In everything God has order so why not the family? Still working on it referring back to the book, How to Change Your Husband. Which is really how to change yourself. God Bless

  6. My heart was full of joy to read the message of St. Joseph. I daily pray to him for our family and entrust my husband to St.Joseph”s tender care. I pray that Let God’s will be done in our house as you directed the Holy family from the stable in Bethlahem to the cross at Golgotha. In the night I pray to St Joseph to direct my children. In their decisions in life. This beautiful saint is so close to our family… Oh how wonderful and tender is he. Our house is like a little stable too nothing too extravagant. When earthly riches weary my heart will speak to St.Joseph. “Oh how happy and peaceful you three stayed in that little place”. So it’s only the light of heavens grace we need. Christian families must hold Mary and Joseph ..with few earthly glories Heavenly blessings will fill your homes. Thank you Friend of Medjugorje for your wonderful message for families. Never forget that it was St .Joseph that came in the vision of Fatima. This tender saint is a saint for end times. Cling to him. Gb.
