On the last day of Our Lady’s Novena of Peace, June 24, 2024, within a Friend of Medjugorje’s writing, “THERE WILL BE A RESULT,” he recalled a prophecy Our Lady gave as a sign that the war surrounding Medjugorje would be ending soon.  Our Lady gave it in Her February 25, 1994, monthly message to the world. A Friend of Medjugorje, in his usual boldness to proclaim without fear or lack of confidence in Our Lady’s words, put out a headline, proclaiming in a postcard on February 25, 1994, the statement:

 

REJOICE! REJOICE!

Our Lady Will End the War ASAP!

 

At that time, there was no indication that the war was ebbing towards peace. In fact, there seemed to be no end in sight to the killing and destruction. Medjugorje, itself, was targeted for destruction. satan lusted to destroy Our Lady’s Oasis of Peace more than anything else. An angry outraged cry went out, even among Croatians in the village, condemning a Friend of Medjugorje’s words, yet he stood by his words knowing Our Lady was orchestrating events behind the scenes to lead to peace. What were Her words 30 years ago that gave him such faith that Our Lady was leading to the end of the war:

 

February 25, 1994

 

“Dear children! Today I thank you for your prayers. You all have helped me so that this war may finish as soon as possible. I am close to you and I pray for each one of you and I beg you, Pray, Pray, Pray. Only through prayer we can defeat evil and protect all that which satan wants to destroy in your life. I am your Mother and I love you all the same, and I intercede for you before God. Thank you for having responded to my call!”

 

In case you missed what a Friend of Medjugorje stated on the Blue Postcard of “There Will Be a Result,” in real time, when Our Lady first spoke these words 30 years ago, it is reprinted below.  If you didn’t miss it, it’s worth a re-read. Like today, the whole world was being threatened with nuclear annihilation, hatred was spreading like wildfire, and the possibility of peace was somewhere far away into the future. This is what a Friend of Medjugorje wrote at that time, the hope that he saw in Our Lady’s message. It is the same hope he sees in Our Lady’s recent Novena for Peace, with Our Lady on Apparition Hill, June 16-24, 2024.

 

A Friend of Medjugorje stated on February 25, 1994:

 

“Surely, we are in a time in which we do not grasp the ‘greatness’ of Our Lady’s message. The war in Bosnia has been catastrophic. The Pope [John Paul II] said it endangered all of Europe. Everyone close to the events knows that it could be stopped by no means except through the hand of God. As God’s hand opened the sea and let the Israelites (His people) through, so to, His mighty hand will act to end the war. Perhaps it will be through the hands of men. How it happens is not important. What is important is Our Lady tells us of the future and we can actually witness prophecy which came directly from Heaven. So how is it we are so privileged? We must pinch ourselves to realize the significance of being asked to pray because even an impossible war can be stopped by prayer and to actually be told in advance, while it rages full-fledged, that it will end. It is a great defeat of evil of which Jelena of Medjugorje said satan wants to destroy Medjugorje with a rage. But ‘this war’ Our Lady speaks of is not only Bosnia, it is for those who have been praying for family and other struggles of personal war. Our Lady says She thanks you and if you continue to pray, She’ll protect you from all that satan wants to destroy in your life.”  [End of a Friend of Medjugorje’s statement on February 25, 2994]

 

After the above statement, a Friend of Medjugorje then encouraged the reading of a short book he wrote the year before, in 1993, that was originally entitled, Twelve Years of Medjugorje-What Really are Our Lady’s Plans? Today, it bears a different title, Our Lady’s Formula for Victory: Pray, Pray, Pray, which is available as a free download here. What is the book about? A Friend of Medjugorje explains:

 

“It is about the renewal of the Medjugorje conversion momentum, and we believe Our Lady now begs us to pray, pray, pray for that.”

 

It is interesting to note one other parallel that can be found between the situation of 1994 and today. The war in Bosnia had caused Medjugorje to be shut down for more than two years. Few pilgrims were coming because of the war. These words of Our Lady gave a Friend of Medjugorje the confidence to not only resume BVM/Caritas pilgrimages to Medjugorje but to be the first to return to their regular full schedule they had before the war began 2 1/2 years earlier.

 

And today, Medjugorje is rebounding from being shut down also for a few years due to the Coronavirus. At the beginning of this year, a Friend of Medjugorje announced BVM/Caritas pilgrimages would be returning to its regular schedule since before the pandemic. A Friend of Medjugorje sees in Our Lady’s recent action of calling villagers and pilgrims back to Apparition Hill where everything started, first on January 1, 2024, this year, and then over the nine days leading to Her June 25, 2024, anniversary, that She is in fact calling for Her children to return to Medjugorje; return to it physically, return to it spiritually. And it is for the same purpose that a Friend of Medjugorje foresaw in Our Lady’s February 25, 1994, message:

 

“It is about the renewal of the Medjugorje conversion momentum, and we believe Our Lady now begs us to pray, pray, pray for that.”

This is not a time to grow despondent. Our Lady is saying to us that peace is within our reach if we continue to “pray, pray, pray,” the “peace that does not come from man but comes from God.”
