Tomorrow, Our Lady will give a message for the world through Marija. The purpose of Her messages, are to help us to convert and to help us to convert others. But, conversion is not a guaranteed thing.
Conversion is not guaranteed. The initial conversion usually comes as a free gift, but it takes work to continue conversion. Our prayers help to maintain this gift. A Friend of Medjugorje wrote 19 years ago:
“…We must realize conversion of the heart is a gift, a special present, given through prayer.
December 25, 1989
“…I intercede for you to God for Him to give you the gift of conversion of the heart…”
“Conversion is as delicate as a flower. It must be nourished and watered. Many who followed Jesus turned from Him, never believing they would. We have seen the same in the Medjugorje movement. We encourage you to convert. We invite you to go deeper into the spiritual life, to strike out all the world’s distractions, and to commit to daily conversion…”1
It takes a commitment. Tomorrow, August 25, Our Lady will have words for us, words for our conversion. This is Her time, a time given to Her by God to help us. Conversion is no guarantee; we have to pray everyday to maintain it. If we slack off, if we decide to become comfortable, we are as a Friend of Medjugorje says, “Man never stands still. He is always moving, either towards God, or away from God.” Your conversion is not set in stone. Just as many turned from Jesus never believing they ever would, we should never take it for granted that something like that would never happen to us. Be in prayer today, all through the night, and into tomorrow, for your heart to be prepared to listen to what Our Lady will have to tell us, whether encouragement, or correction, so that our conversion will continue to grow each day.
