These days, pilgrims are slowly increasing for the Feast of the Assumption. There were several thousand pilgrims present tonight at the Blue Cross. It was a beautiful night to be with Our Lady. The orange of sunset faded into the dark of night, and under a star filled sky, pilgrims prayed and sang to open their hearts to Mary, Queen of Peace.
The apparition to Ivan was preceded by singing and the Holy Rosary, then followed by the Seven Our Father’s, Hail Mary’s and Glory Be’s. Our Lady came around 10:00 P.M., and the apparition lasted a little over 9 minutes. Following is Ivan’s description of the apparition:
Tonight the most important from the meeting with Our Lady describing the words that I have, is that Our Lady came very happy. At the beginning, She greeted us as always, with Her Motherly greeting, “Praised be Jesus my dear children!” Our Lady then prayed for a longer time with Her hands extended over all of us present. She then blessed us all with Her Motherly blessing. She blessed all the religious articles brought for blessing. Then Our Lady prayed especially for the priests, the bishops, and the Holy Father. Ivan recommended all us, our needs, our intentions, our families, especially the sick present, and all those who recommended themselves into our prayers. Then Our Lady again continued to pray over all those present with Her hands extended, and then left in the illuminated Sign of the Cross saying, “Go in peace My dear children!” Ivan accentuated that the greatest part of the meeting tonight, Our Lady prayed for the priests, the bishops, and the Holy Father.
Preparing for Our Lady’s apparition to Ivan begins hours before. Pilgrims usually come to the Blue Cross several hours before and prepare through prayer for Our Lady’s presence. Pictured above is a common sight on the evenings of Prayer Group, as some pilgrims pray silently, while others pray out loud in groups. When the Prayer Group arrives, all is stilled to pray in union.
Who would not want to be this father, to be able to bring your children to be blessed by the Mother of Jesus, Queen of all Heaven and Earth. Beginning in the mid-80’s, throughout the 90’s and beyond, when A Friend of Medjugorje came frequently to Medjugorje with his family there was never a question of whether or not to bring his children up Apparition Mountain for Ivan’s late night prayer group meetings. He so valued the blessing of Our Lady upon his children that he and his wife would carry their babies in their backpacks, holding the hands of their other young children as they climbed up the mountain. During the prayer group, the children always fell asleep. Coming down in the dark they would carry one sleeping child in their backpack, another sleeping child in their arms, while guiding their other sleepy children down the crowded mountain. And yet, they did this time and time again. The sacrifice was never greater than the blessing received. This is why A Friend of Medjugorje can challenge people around the world to get up in the middle of the night for Mirjana’s apparitions or Ivan’s. Meet Our Lady in prayer on your knees even if the hour is inconvenient. The grace you will receive from the sacrifices will bring joy and gladness, and strength in your conversion.
Apparition Mountain at the Blue Cross, tonight, August 13, 2010, at 8:18 p.m. As one can easily see, finding a place to kneel almost two hours before the apparition is difficult as thousands have already taken their place to welcome Our Lady.
Time passes quickly, and so does the light vanish quickly as the day fades into evening, and then night. There is only one hour difference between the pictures seen above and below. Yet, it is comforting to know that it is in the darkness that Our Lady comes, not only on Her mountain, but in the darkness of our times. Our hope and joy is in knowing that it is through Her coming that She is bringing us to a new morning, a new time of spring.
The road just below the Blue Cross where Ivan had his apparition tonight, is so packed with pilgrims that even the people are moving at a snail’s pace, while the taxis must wait until the tsunami of people navigate their way out of the streets, back to their rooms. Many of these pilgrims, though they must walk home through the fields, will make it back to their small hotels, called pansions, before most of the taxis can even start moving. It is one of the most beautiful sites one can see in Medjugorje, watching the thousands descend the mountain with their flashlights for several hours after being with Our Lady on the mountain.
Nature is more beautiful with Our Lady, as Her beauty brings insight into nature that surrounds us. This view of Cross Mountain was seen from the Blue Cross on Apparition Mountain, and was a special sight to behold. It leads one into reflection, revealing something of Our Lady and Jesus. Jesus is represented by the Cross. The moon, which perfectly reflects the sun, also perfectly represents Our Lady as She perfectly reflects Her Son, Jesus. With Our Lady, through Her messages, everything becomes a lesson to teach us.

I have been in Medugorge five times . I will return there on August 27th with the help of God & His blessed mother . It is Heaven on earth . I have received many blesssings there.The peace is tangeable , Today is the feast of the Assumption of Our Lady into heaven …Praise God
