In light of reports of the Vatican Commission on Medjugorje holding its last meeting… Whether you know it or not, you are benefiting from Our Lady’s presence each day…
January 20, 2014 A.D.
The following was originally published in a Caritas newsletter in 2010. In light of the reports from the Vatican spokesman Fr. Federico Lombardi of the Vatican Commission on Medjugorje holding its last session, we reflect on Our Lady’s words of 1986 in an answer regarding Church authority and the Church’s approval of the apparitions in Medjugorje:
“One must follow the authority of the Church with certainty. Yet, before She expresses an opinion, it is necessary to advance spiritually, because She will not be able to express a judgment in a vacuum, but in a confirmation which presupposes growth of the child. First comes birth, followed by Baptism, then Confirmation. The Church comes to confirm him, who is born of God. We must walk and advance in the spiritual life, affected by these messages.”
As A Friend of Medjugorje has said before, we need not worry about the outcome of the Vatican Commission, or Church approval, but rather we need to change our lives and live the fruit of Our Lady’s apparitions. Then, “By their fruits you shall know them…”
As the days become more urgent to follow Our Lady, we share the following with you. – Medjugorje.com
While you may not be hearing much about Medjugorje, it grows more important each day, as the world’s ways become more unimportant. Hollywood comedian Ben Stein, for years, has written a biweekly column called “Monday Night at Morton’s” (a famous chain of steakhouses known and frequented by famous people and movie stars). Ben Stein is a conservative Jew, very strong in supporting Christians and our religion. He has recently written his last column of “Monday Night at Morton’s,” a column he believed would never end. He tells why.
“It gives me a shiver to write (the last column). It worked well for a long time, but gradually, my changing as a person and the world’s changing have over taken it.” Stein continues, “I no longer think Hollywood stars are terribly important. (They are) no longer my ideal of a shining star we should all look up to.”
Stein’s disillusionment with what he thought and believed at one time has now changed. Our Lady is coming into the world to do just that – to change ‘mentalities’, to illuminate what is real, what is truth.

“…live my messages so that light may illuminate your hearts and fill your hearts…”
Our Lady wants us not to follow, not to imitate, not to be swayed by what is ‘in’ whether we are talking about fashions or the latest “got to get it.” Our Lady has something to say about this false glitter produced by people, ‘the stars’ or other Oscar De la Renta’s.
August 2, 2005
“Dear children, I have come to you with open arms, to take you all into my embrace, under my mantle. I cannot do this while your heart is filled with false glitters and false idols. Cleanse your heart and allow my angels to begin to sing in it! Then I will take you under my mantle and give you my Son, the true peace and happiness. Do not wait my children. Thank you.”
Ben Stein, like many on the earth, whether they know it or not, are benefiting from Our Lady’s presence each day. Her benediction for the world each day illuminates souls of good will to not be part of the world’s system, even though they may be unaware or have no knowledge of the Virgin Mary. Stein, in the grace of illumination, wrote in his last column:
“I am no longer comfortable being part of the system that has such poor values, and I do not want to perpetuate those values by pretending that who is eating at Mortan’s is a big ‘subject.’”
Stein goes on to tell what a real star is.
“A real star, the kind who haunts my memory night and day, is the U.S. Soldier in Baghdad, who saw a little girl playing with a piece of unexploded ordinance on a street near where he was guarding a street. He pushed her aside and threw himself on it just as it exploded…He left a family desolate in California and a little girl alive in Baghdad.”
The grace Our Lady brings to the world everyday in Her benediction, at the moment of the apparition is working to chip away at errors in the hearts of every good-willed man on earth. Stein’s confession of what he realized is important and the ‘star’ qualities one should reach for, is an illumination of what Our Lady wants us to be. Stein states:
“I came to realize that life lived to help others is the only one that matters. This is my highest and best use as a man. Years ago, I realized I could never be as great an actor as Olivier, or comic as Steve Martin…But I could be a devoted father to my son, husband to my wife, and above all, a good son to the parents who have done so much for me. This came to be my main task in life. I cared for and paid attention to them in their declining years. I stayed with my father as he got sick, went into extremis and then into a coma, and then entered immortality, with my sister and me reading him Psalms. I came to realize that life lived to help others is the only one that matters and that is my duty, in return for the lavish life God has devolved upon me, to help others He has placed in my path. This is my highest and best use as man.”
Our Lady’s grace given to the world today is prevalent everywhere, even for those without the realization of Her intercession before God in this time to save the world. As was stated, Medjugorje is becoming more important everyday as the world’s ways are becoming more unimportant daily. As Stein wrote, he could no longer stomach writing about the stars visiting Morton’s. His response, in answer to Our Lady’s call that he heard in his heart without recognizing Her as the source, is to live the highest duty to help others.
With all our love and for Our Lady,

1 thought on “Are You Changing?”
Thank you for a very uplifting writing. This comes at a time when I sold my house of 26 years, to move in and take care of my aging dad who’s 83 years old. It’s a daily challenge, maybe more than I would have thought. Some have made comments too me, that why would I have sacrificed my life to do this? That it would have been much easier to put him in a nursing home, and just to get on with my life and do what I want. Well that was never an option for me!! Only through the love of Jesus, and his death on the cross, I have strength to do this. Its only been 6 months since I moved in, and already many sleepless nights. But he’s my dad, hes done so much for me. This isn’t a sacrifice, but a blessing that God has giving me, the grace and strength to do this. It truly is about giving, and helping others.. GOD Bless Mike in CT..
