Our Lady offers a beautiful way of life with God, and a mandate to change our hearts. Are we running away?
April 18, 2016 A.D.
Our Lady said on April 2, 2016:
“…Do not be afraid, you are not alone, I am with you…”
We have no need to be afraid when we know Our Lady is with us. But, sometimes we run away from Her.
Mirjana tells us of the first apparition, on June 24, 1981 and Her response when she saw Our Lady:
“…As I was reaching the first houses of the village, I felt a strong call to come back [to Apparition Mountain]. I came back, and I saw Ivanka standing in the same spot. Then Ivanka said to me, “Look now please.” I was able to see a Woman in a long dress, covering her feet, holding (a) baby in Her arms. Everything was very strange, because nobody was climbing the hills, especially not in such a long dress with a baby in their arms. At that very moment, I felt all the emotions that exist in the world within myself – fear, beauty, love, misunderstanding, all of that together. But what prevailed with me was to run away. And I escaped…” 1
How often when Our Lady comes to us do we run away because we fear the implications of following Her? We fear the implications of not being popular, losing the support of our priest, or other churchgoers because Medjugorje is not approved? It is in these moments we should run to Our Lady, cling to Her messages, and leave the rest to God.
