With the miraculous events of the downfall of the Soviet Union and the newfound freedom being experienced in Eastern European countries still fresh in everyone’s memories, war begins in another part of the world, despite Our Lady’s call for peace. Though it is hoped that the conflict would last only a short while, the war in Iraq would continue for the next eight years, without a definitive peace being established. Perhaps this is what Our Lady speaks of in Her message given on this day:
