Bishop Ratko Peric of Mostar Diocese, the diocese where Medjugorje is located, issued a public statement repeating his insistence that:
â€œâ€¦there have been no apparitions of Our Lady in Medjugorje.â€œ
He, who has consistently argued against the validity of the apparitions, made a public reminder of the stance taken by his diocese, after investigation of the phenomenaâ€
The position of the chancery of this diocese has been clear and decisive:
â€œthere are no credible apparitions of the Virgin Mary.â€œ
Bishop Peric made this statement either knowing or suspecting that the result of the Vatican’s investigation that was started under Pope Benedict XVI, was leaning toward recognizing at least the first apparitions, as had been rumored.
