[FRIEND OF MEDJUGORJE]

We live in a time of contradictions, full of contradictions, that are so extraordinary that we often can be astounded at where we are at these crossroads, these roads that lead toward good, and these words that lead toward evil.

And so, we’re desperate to have Our Lady for our nation, for many reasons of which people might not have understood fifteen years ago when we were saying the same thing we say today in our mission. But many now are coming on board. They had to wait for the physical signs to come. And I don’t mean miraculous. I mean, just, the economy, the politics, the government, the situations that surround them in their daily goings and comings. Everything is speaking that we are in trouble.

That was a Friend of Medjugorje in 2013. That is eleven years ago, and it is as if his words could have been spoken today.

Tonight, we are praying the final Patriotic Rosary Novena for our nation, on the eve of the election, perhaps one of the most consequential elections in the history of our country.

When we hear a Friend of Medjugorje’s words like what we just did, it’s remarkable that to think that in 2013, there were still people—believers, Medjugorje people—who refused to see the state of our nation.

Here is a short little one-minute excerpt from the very same broadcast that we just heard from a Friend of Medjugorje from 2013, in which a Friend of Medjugorje says something which is now seen as prophetic, at the time was even opposed by some believers because of the lack of discernment and being able to see why Our Lady was here all these years.

Here’s a Friend of Medjugorje, 2013.

[FRIEND OF MEDJUGORJE]

Incredible words today reflecting the division of what Our Lady comes for.

Our Lady coming for division? You bet. Jesus said that. “My peace is not man’s peace. My peace is a sword.”

What does a sword do? It divides. It cuts.

And Jesus goes on in the Scriptures and gives several examples. A father from the son. Son from the father. Mother from the daughter…and several other examples of really what He means.

And what does that mean? It means, when somebody’s convicted, and they convert, other members of the family may not want to be convicted, maybe agitated, and they separate.

We’re in a time of unity, yet we’re in a time of division. A separation is taking place.

Our Lady said it, August 2nd, that, “…A great struggle is about to unfold…between my Son and satan [and] Human souls are at stake…”

You’re in battle, not necessarily fighting, but what’s fighting for you, for your attention, for your daily walk.

And so, hearing the words that he just spoke about and the division in our nation, now, it’s very evident, and it’s very clear. What could only have been seen through the messages and through proper discernment, those who have been following a Friend of Medjugorje, his writings, his broadcasts, you have been schooled in understanding what’s been going on all these years.

Before we begin the Patriotic Rosary, we’re going to take about seven or eight minutes to share with you an excerpt from Look What Happened While You Were Sleeping. This was a book a Friend of Medjugorje released in 2007, the very infancy of a lot of the movements that have risen up in the nation now to help save our nation.

This is an excerpt from chapter one, and it is the reason why we pray tonight.

[NARRATOR]

No nation is great because it has grand buildings and cathedrals, or great cities, or mighty armies and navies. These are beautiful and impressive, and often necessary, but a nation with all these still may not be a great nation. A nation can be great only when the hearts of its people are good, and noble, and home-loving, and fair and just to others.

The home is the basis of a nation. A man who loves his home, no matter how humble it is, will fight to protect it and his loved ones. The reason why the English-speaking people who came to America succeeded, and why the other colonizing nations failed, was because the Englishman, when he came to America in early colonial times, brought with him his wife and children. For them, he built a cabin home, and cultivated and learned to love, a patch of ground. The French and Spaniards did not do this, and so they failed. And that is why we speak the English language in America, because the English-speaking colonists made homes here.

‘The homes of the people,’ and not its grand cities and buildings and its armies and navies, are the safety of a nation. If the homes be right, the nation will be right; and if the homes be right, the great cities and the cathedrals, and the armies and the navies will be right; for with the homes right, the armies and the navies will never wrong other nations—they will protect not only the homes of their owners but also homes in other lands.

The little, beloved home is the real basis of every nation that is great and good.

“I went to Washington the other day, and I stood on the Capital Hill; my heart beat quick as I looked at the towering marble of my country’s Capitol, and a mist gathered in my eyes as I thought of its tremendous significance; the armies and the treasury; the judges and the President; the Congress and the courts, and all that was gathered there. And I felt that the sun in all its course could not look down on a better sight than that majestic home of a republic, which had taught the world its best lessons of liberty. And I felt that if honor and wisdom and justice abided therein, the world would at last owe that great house in which the ark of the covenant of our country is lodged, its final uplifting and its regeneration.

“But a few days later, I visited a quiet country home. It was just a simple, modest house, sheltered by big trees and encircled by meadow and field, rich with the promise of harvest. The fragrance of the pink and of the hollyhock in the front yard was mingled with the aroma of the orchard and of the garden, and resonant with the cluck of poultry and the hum of bees.

“Inside the house were thrift, comfort, and that cleanliness which is next to godliness. There was the old clock that had held its steadfast pace amid the frolic of weddings, that had welcomed in steady measure every newcomer to the family, that had kept company with the watches at the bedside, and that had ticked the solemn “requiem” of the dead. There were the big, restful beds and the open fireplace, and the old family Bible, thumbed with the fingers of hands long since still, and blurred with the tears of eyes long since closed, holding the simple annals of the family and the heart and the conscience of the home.

“Outside the house stood the master, a simple, upright man, with ‘no mortgage’ on his roof, and ‘no lien’ on his growing crops; master of his lands and master of himself. Near by stood his aged father, happy in the heart and home of his son. And as they started to the house, the old man’s hand rested on the young man’s shoulder, laying there the unspeakable blessing of the honored and grateful father and ennobling it with the knighthood of the Fourth Commandment.

“And as they reached the door, the old mother came with the sunset falling fair on her face, and lighting up her deep, patient eyes, while her lips, trembling with the rich music of her heart, bade her husband and her son welcome to their home. Beyond was the good wife, happy amid her household cares, clean of heart and conscience, the buckler and the helpmate of her husband. Down the lane came the children, trooping home after the cows, seeking as truant birds do, the quiet of their home nest.

“And I saw the night descend on that home, falling gently as from the wings of the unseen dove. And the old man, while a startled bird called from the forest and the trees thrilled with the cricket’s cry, and the stars were swarming in the bending sky, called the family around him and took the Bible from the table and read the old, old story of love and faith. He then called them to their knees in prayer, and the little baby hid in the folds of its mother’s dress while he closed the record of that simple day by calling down God’s blessing on their simple home.

“And while I gazed, the vision of the great marble Capital faded from my brain. Forgotten were its treasure and its splendor. And I said, ‘Oh, surely here in the homes of the people are lodged at last the strength and the responsibility of this government, the hope and the promise of this Republic.’”

Henry Woodfin Grady

“What you have just read is sweet to read and reflect upon, as much today as it was 120 years ago. Sadly, what was just described is no longer the norm for the majority of American homes. And because it is not, our society, the way of life that Americans have always been blessed with and enjoyed, is rapidly vanishing. It is time we “awake” to the fact that the “war on terror” is not only beyond America’s borders in places like Iraq or Afghanistan, but that there are active plans to destroy the very soul of America from the inside out. And these plans are succeeding, much to the dismay of the majority of Americans who see, or at least sense, it happening, but do not know how to stop it.

“With our society so ingrained in error, it often takes years of prayer to receive a grace to even gain the knowledge that a particular action or way of doing something is not correct or according to God’s Commandments. Prayer leads to change, as well as coming to the recognition that God must give the grace to make the change.”

[END CLIP]

[COC]

And that was from a Friend of Medjugorje’s book Look What Happened While You Were Sleeping, released in 2007. If you were paying very close attentions, you heard the words, “the soul of America.” This is a term that has been repeated over and over again by people on the side of light and of people on the side of dark, because, as it is evident that we are definitely in a battle for the soul of America.

So, we begin now the Patriotic Rosary by a Friend of Medjugorje.

[THE PATRIOTIC ROSARY]

NARRATOR: Patriotic Rosary, for the Consecration of Our Nation, by a Friend of Medjugorje

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Come Holy Spirt, fill the hearts of the faithful and enkindle in them, the fire of Your Love. Send forth Your spirit, and they shall be created, and You shall renew the face of the earth. For the Conversion of Our Nation’s Capital.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen.

The First Glorious Mystery is the Resurrection of Jesus

[MUSIC]

[MUSKET SHOTS, CANNON FIRE]

NARRATOR: From 1775 to 1783, George Washington led a group of inexperienced, ill-equipped, but passionate American patriots in a revolution against the mightiest nation on earth: Great Britain.

[BITTER WIND, CAMPFIRE]

NARRATOR: In December 1777, Washington’s forces were attacked by an enemy even more merciless than the British. Winter. Again and again the wind and cold and snow of Valley Forge beat down the men, who had little clothing or protection against the elements. Two to three thousand men perished a miserable death.

Supplies dwindled to nothing. So did morale. Washington pleaded with Congress for assistance, but little came.

[SOLDIER TRUDGING THROUGH THE SNOW, WIND WHIPPING AROUND]

NARRATOR: He grieved at the sight of bloody footprints in the snow from his men, who had no shoes.

But Washington held a firm grip on hope. He encouraged his troops and trained them daily into a disciplined army.

[TROOPS BEING DRILLED]

[MUSKET SHOTS, CANNON FIRE, REVOLUTIONARY WAR SOUNDS, RALLYING TROOPS, SHOUTS]

NARRATOR: Against overwhelming odds, and with God’s supernatural favor backing him, Washington eventually defeated the British forces…and won freedom for America.

[CHURCH BELLS RINGING, CHEERS]

NARRATOR: The beloved military leader led the effort to create the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and became the first president of the United States. Less than a year before taking office, Washington wrote this letter to his friend, General Benjamin Lincoln, who served as major general in the Revolutionary War. June 29, 1788.

GEORGE WASHINGTON: “No one can rejoice more than I do at every step taken by the People of this great Country to preserve the Union—establish good order & government—and to render the Nation happy at home & respected abroad. No Country upon Earth ever had it more in its power to attain these blessings than United America. Wonderously strange then, & much to be regretted indeed would it be, were we to neglect the means, and to stray from the road to which the finger of Providence has so manifestly pointed. I cannot believe it will ever come to pass! The great Author of all good has not conducted us so far on the Road to happiness and glory to withdraw from us, in the hour of need, his beneficent support. By folly & misconduct (proceeding from a variety of causes) we may now & then get bewildered; but I hope, and trust, that there is good sense and virtue enough left to bring us back into the right way before we shall be entirely lost.

NARRATOR: For the Presidency of the United States of America. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

[SONG: “AMERICA”]

My country, ‘tis of thee,
Sweet land of liberty,
Of thee I sing.
Land where my fathers died,
Land of the pilgrims’ pride,
From ev’ry mountain side,
Let freedom ring.

My native country thee,
Land of the noble free,
Thy name I love.
I love thy rocks and rills,
Thy woods and templed hills,
My heart with rapture thrills,
Like that above.

Let music swell the breeze,
And ring from all the trees
Sweet freedom’s song:
Let mortal tongues awake,
Let all that breathe partake,
Let rocks their silence break,
The sound prolong.

Our father’s God, to thee,
Author of liberty,
To thee we pray.
Long may our land be bright,
With freedom’s holy light.
Protect us by thy might,
Great God, our King.

NARRATOR: The Second Glorious Mystery is the Ascension of Jesus into Heaven

John Adams was a brilliant lawyer and leader of the American Revolution. He helped draft the Declaration of Independence. Despite strong opposition, Adams argued strongly for its adoption.

JOHN ADAMS: “It is true that in the beginning we aimed not at independence. But there’s a Divinity which shapes our ends. We may die, die colonists, die slaves, die it may be ignominiously or on the scaffold. Be it so. Be it so! If it be the pleasure of Heaven that my country shall require the poor offering of my life, the victim shall be ready. Come when that hour may. But while I do live, let me have a country, or at least the hope of a country, and that a free country. But whatever our fate be assured this Declaration will stand. It may cost treasure and it may cost blood, but it will stand. It is my living sentiment and by the blessing of God it will be my dying sentiment. Independence now and independence forever.”

[APPLAUSE AND CHEERS FROM CONGRESS]

NARRATOR: Adam’s speech helped win the day, and America’s independence. Adams wrote to his beloved wife, Abigail, whom he honored as his adviser:

“…yesterday was decided the greatest question which was ever debated in America, and a greater perhaps never was nor will be decided among men.”

He predicted the signing of the Declaration of Independence would be commemorated every year with great festivities. And, he was right.

NARRATOR: One day after Congress approved the Declaration of Independence, John Adams wrote this letter to Abigail. July 3, 1776.

JOHN ADAMS: “It may be the will of Heaven that America shall suffer calamities still more wasting and distresses yet more dreadful. If this is to be the case, it will have this good effect, at least: it will inspire us with many virtues, which we have not, and correct many errors, follies, and vices, which threaten to disturb, dishonor, and destroy us. The furnace of affliction produces refinement, in states as well as individuals. And the new governments we are assuming, in every part, will require a purification from our vices, and an augmentation of our virtues or there will be no blessings…But I must submit all my hopes and fears to an overruling Providence; in which, unfashionable as the faith may be, I firmly believe.”

NARRATOR: For the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America.

Amen.

[SONG: “BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC”]

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword;
His truth is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on.

I have seen Him in the watchfires of a hundred circling camps;
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps;
His day is marching on.  (Refrain)

I have read a fiery Gospel writ in burnished rows of steel;
As ye deal with my contempters, so with you my grace shall deal;
Let the “Mother of the Savior” crush the serpent with Her heel;
Since God is marching on.  (Refrain)

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before his judgement seat.
O be swift, my soul, to answer him; be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.  (Refrain)

In the beauty of the lilies, Christ was born across the sea;
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me.
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free.
His truth is marching on.  (Refrain)

NARRATOR: The Third Glorious Mystery, the Descent of the Holy Spirit Upon Mary and Apostles

During the American Revolution, James Iredell helped organize the nation’s court system. President Washington appointed him as one of the first justices of the United States Supreme Court

MARSHAL: “The Honorable, the Chief Justice and the Associate Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States. Oyez! Oyez! Oyez! (OH yay) All persons having business before the Honorable, the Supreme Court of the United States, are admonished to draw near and give their attention, for the Court is now sitting. God save the United States and this Honorable Court!”

NARRATOR: At the age of 38, Iredell became the youngest Supreme Court Justice at the time. On May 1, 1778, he wrote this letter.

JAMES IREDELL: “Review the great scenes of history: you will find mankind has always been obliged to pay dear for the blessings they enjoyed…The struggles of a great people have almost always ended in the establishment of liberty…Such a people are spoken of with admiration by all future ages…

“Their souls glow with gratitude for the virtue and self-denial of their forefathers. They consider them as patterns for their own conduct on similar occasions and are continually pointing them out to the reverence and imitation of their children.  These are the glorious effects of patriotism and virtue. These are the rewards annexed to the faithful discharge of that great and honorable duty, fidelity to our country…I pray to God that the fair character I have described may be that of America to the latest ages.”

NARRATOR: For the Supreme Court of the United States of America. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven.

[SONG: “AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL”]

O beautiful for spacious skies, For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties above the fruited plain!
America! America! God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood From sea to shining sea.

O beautiful for pilgrim feet, Whose stern, impassioned stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat Across the wilderness!
America! America! God mend thine ev’ry flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self control, Thy liberty in law.

O beautiful for heroes proved in liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved,
And mercy more than life!
America! America! May God thy gold refine,
Till all success be nobleness, And ev’ry gain divine.

O beautiful for patriot dream that sees beyond the years, thine alabaster cities gleam undimmed by human tears!

America! America! God shed His grace on thee, and crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea!

NARRATOR: The Fourth Glorious Mystery, the Assumption

Jedidiah Morse is known as the father of American geography. His textbooks helped educate the children of the new United States of America. Morse earned his divinity degree at Yale, studying under the famous fiery preacher, Jonathan Edwards. His first son was Samuel Morse, the famous artist and inventor of the telegraph and the Morse Code.

In Charleston, Massachusetts on April 25, 1799, Jedidiah warned his listeners in a sermon…

JEDEDIAH MORSE: “To the kindly influence of Christianity we owe that degree of civil freedom, and political and social happiness which mankind now enjoys. In proportion as the genuine effects of Christianity are diminished in any nation, either through unbelief, or the corruption of its doctrines, or the neglect of its institutions; in the same proportion will the people of that nation recede from the blessings of genuine freedom, and approximate the miseries of complete despotism.

“All efforts to destroy the foundations of our holy religion, ultimately tend to the subversion also of our political freedom and happiness.

“Whenever the pillars of Christianity shall be overthrown, our present republican forms of government, and all the blessings which flow from them, must fall with them.”

[SONG: “STAR SPANGLED BANNER”]

Oh! say, can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight, O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?

And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh! say does that Star Spangled Banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

Oh! thus be it ev’r when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war’s desolation,
Blest with vict’ry and peace, may the Heav’n rescued land
Praise the pow’r that hath made and preserved us a nation.

Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto, “In God is our trust.”
And the Star Spangled Banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

NARRATOR: The Fifth Glorious Mystery, the Crowning of Mary as Queen of Heaven and Earth

Robert E. Lee was a highly-skilled and respected general in the Confederate States Army during the Civil War. After the war, he campaigned passionately for the healing of the nation between the North and the South. Many credit Lee for helping to bring back unity to the Nation.

In 1863, in the middle of the Civil War, Robert E. Lee wrote this letter concerning the power of prayer.

ROBERT E. LEE: “Soldiers! Let us humble ourselves before the Lord, our God, asking through Christ, the forgiveness of our sins, beseeching the aid of the God of our forefathers in the defense of our homes and our liberties, thanking Him for His past blessings, and imploring their continuance upon our cause and our people.

“Knowing that intercessory prayer is our mightiest weapon and the supreme call for all Christians today, I pleadingly urge our people everywhere to pray.  Believing that prayer is the greatest contribution that our people can make in this critical hour, I humbly urge that we take time to pray—to really pray.

“Let there be prayer at sunup, at noonday, at sundown, at midnight – all through the day.  Let us pray for our children, our youth, our aged, our pastors, our homes.  Let us pray for the churches.

“Let us pray for ourselves, that we may not lose the word ‘concern’ out of our Christian vocabulary.  Let us pray for our nation.  Let us pray for those who have never known Jesus Christ and His redeeming love, for moral forces everywhere, for our national leaders.  Let prayer be our passion.  Let prayer be our practice.

NARRATOR: For the County and Municipal Offices of the United States of America. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven.

[SONG: “GOD BLESS AMERICA”]

While the storm clouds gather

far across the sea,

Let us swear allegiance

to a land that’s free.

Let us all be grateful

for a land that’s fair,

As we raise our voices

in a solemn prayer.

God bless America.
Land that I love.
Stand beside her and guide her,
Through the night with the light from above.
From the mountains to the prairies
To the oceans white with foam.

God bless America.
My home sweet home.

God bless America
My home sweet home.

NARRATOR: Hail, holy Queen, mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To you we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to you we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn, then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us; and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

Pray for us O, Holy Mother of God.

That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
