St. Francis once said, Preach the Gospel at all times. If necessary use words. We will influence others to follow Our Lady, not with words, but through witness. To be a witness means to be martyred. It means accepting and living God’s Will above our own, not only in the big things in life, but in the small daily duties of our calling and vocation. True holiness consists of this, and it demands from us a decision that nothing will come before our duty to God and following His Will.
If we are truly following the way of Jesus then we will experience many of His sufferings, even if they may be in a different form and severity.
