July 4, 2007 Apparition in Marija’s Chapel of the Two Hearts

 

Before leaving Medjugorje, our founder spoke to Marija about July 4th and he had instructed the Community members of what to do in regard to our celebration of July 4th in Medjugorje. Therefore, Community members from Caritas were with Marija July 4th, bringing flowers for Our Lady, to pray during the apparition in a special way for the United States of America, on the day of its Independence. Along with the flowers, we brought the wooden statue of Our Lady holding baby Jesus, which is pictured on the cover of the novena booklet this year, for the Reconciling of Ourselves, Our Families, and Our Nation Back to God. This statue is very special to the community because it has been in the presence of Our Lady and blessed by Her many times in our cabin in Medjugorje.
 

We also brought a copy of Look What Happened While You Were Sleeping, to place before Our Lady, asking for Her intercession to help spread the book. This particular copy of the book is being brought to every apparition of Our Lady – up on Apparition Hill for Ivan’s prayer group apparitions, to Mirjana’s second of the month apparitions, as well as to Marija’s daily apparitions in the Chapel of the Two Hearts. Last summer and fall, we carried an unfinished copy of the book to every apparition as well, asking Our Lady’s intercession as the book was being written by a Friend of Medjugorje, our founder. We have no doubt that the result of Her prayers led to much of the research that ended up in the book, as well as assisted a Friend of Medjugorje by continually inspiring the ideas that were formulated in this major writing. Now we ask Her assistance in spreading Look What Happened While You Were Sleeping to every corner of our nation, as well as to nations around the world.

It was a great grace to be before Our Lady on this day. We gathered all the prayers that would be said this day across America and presented them to Our Lady, the Patroness of the United States, on behalf of all Americans, imploring Her to take these prayers and win for our nation a deep conversion and return to God. These prayers were being offered just as most of the celebrations were beginning throughout our 50 States.

After the apparition, an Italian group stayed for Holy Mass. Marija explained to the priest the importance of this day in America and asked him to add to his intentions a special intention for the United States to be especially blessed this day, and then invited us to celebrate this Mass with them. There is nothing more comforting than to be able to kneel before the Mother of God and reconsecrate our nation to Her, while in Her presence. Though our nation suffers from so many difficulties, no problem is too big for God. Our Lady will help us find the way to a future full of hope, peace, and blessings.
