It had become apparent in 1988, that during the apparitions of Our Lady to Marija in the home of a Friend of Medjugorje and his wife, that Our Lady had come to implement a special plan. But, the plan was more than special, it was new. Though this has already been explained before, and is widely accepted as part of Our Lady’s Medjugorje plan, it is important to explain the circumstances, that by the time Marija had come to Alabama in November 1988, Our Lady had stopped giving daily messages in Medjugorje. In fact, Our Lady stopped giving the weekly message to the parish almost two years before.
When Marija came to Birmingham in November 1988, Our Lady, breaking from the routine of Medjugorje, started giving messages every day in a Friend of Medjugorje’s home. After Marija donated her kidney to her brother Andrija, on December 16, 1988, Our Lady was silent for one month, the exception being the December 25, 1988 message. This silence of Our Lady was for many reasons, which are explained in more detail here. However, on January 15, 1989, Our Lady appeared to Marija during Mass, which was being celebrated in a Friend of Medjugorje’s home. Our Lady said:
Our Lady, being very forward in giving messages in Alabama, expressing Her desire to speak, was an indicator that Her breaking of the Medjugorje routine was to lay the groundwork for a new and special plan which She intended to begin. Our Lady’s messages during the November 1988 – January 1989, apparitions here, are the constitution, the groundwork for a new way of life Our Lady was creating with a Friend of Medjugorje and his family.
We have spoken in this way for many years, and the worldwide acceptance that Our Lady started another place of conversion, not apart from Medjugorje, but a part of Medjugorje, has been a source of hope for many. We often share parts of our life with Our Lady in different ways, to help others in their own daily walk. These glimpses of our life, are for the purpose of helping individuals and families find a path out of modernism, and into a simple way of life, in this modern time.
