The new meters continuously monitor usage, can communicate with everything in the home (not just the TV), and can remotely, instantly and indefinitely shut down power. A simple phone call to ask that a mechanical meter be re-installed got the job done in two days. I expect they think that only a few people will want this. It’s time to change the reality.
