Our Lady of Medjugorje said through Ivan on July 5, 2019:
“I desire to continue to lead you—to lead you to my Son—that in Him you may find true and real peace and love…”
The path towards Her Son, is a path that is sacrificial, a path that has been forgotten.
A pilgrim in Medjugorje has left their shoes hanging on a tree to climb Cross Mountain barefoot, in the early morning hours of June 23, 2019. These little acts of sacrifice are part of what helps to make the difference between a good pilgrimage and a mediocre pilgrimage.
Our Lady desires to lead us to Jesus. Many state these words as tokenism, not really telling the weight of what these words actually mean. These words are often spoken even in Medjugorje. But what does this actually entail? A Friend of Medjugorje explains more of what it means that Our Lady is here to lead us to Jesus:

“…This time is the time of grace…”
It seems somewhat of a contradiction to be in a time of grace and so many of Our Lady’s committed children are suffering. Yet, we have the lives of the saints who are faithful reproductions of Christ. Their lives were filled with crosses, trials, and sufferings. Most want to unite themselves to Christ, but few wish to pay the price of doing so in completeness. Christ suffered, and the more you unite to Him, the more you will experience the same.

In this time of grace while Our Lady is here to lead us to Jesus, sacrifice is an ingredient on that way. In the way a Friend of Medjugorje states so simply above, this is the true meaning of the words, “Our Lady is here to lead us to Jesus.” The suffering and sacrifice in coming closer to Jesus may not be grandiose. As a Friend of Medjugorje shared recently with a BVM Caritas Pilgrimage group, Our Lady leading us to Jesus does not necessarily mean going to church more often, simply keeping an attendance record. It means living out one’s state in life to perfection as a wife, a husband, a good employee, etc. This is not often what one thinks as the glorious way to Jesus. But this is the path that, in the end, leads towards becoming Christ-like, and as Our Lady said through Ivan on July 5, 2019, leads to “true and real peace and love.”
