Our Lady of Medjugorje said on March 2, 2018:
Having Our Lady with us does not mean there will not be any pain.
A pilgrim walking barefoot on Apparition Mountain in Medjugorje. Many pilgrims offer sacrifices such as walking barefoot up the mountains, etc. as a penance. Doing such penances make our prayers deeper and give us clarity in our daily walk of conversion.
The more we give and sacrifice, the closer we will be to Our Lady. Our Lady makes it clear in Her message of March 2, 2018:
She is with us when we are in pain and our penance of living our daily life to perfection. Her presence does not make the suffering go away. The more we pray and pray fervently, the more strength we will have because She will be closer to us and the suffering will be become lighter. A Friend of Medjugorje writes:
“…The strong, determined, good will comes to you by not neglecting prayer. Renewal is impossible without prayer. If you make a determined effort to increase prayer and the fervency in your prayer, you will experience strength in your will to do more, give more, love more…”1
If you are finding that you are drowning in your daily walk, neglecting prayer will only weaken you. Here we have a time of penance and conversion, that if we take the opportunities, Our Lady will be closer to us and we will have more strength, even if the pain or suffering does not go away. We will have strength to not just maintain, but actually do more.
