He wasn’t going to church. He gave up on religion many years before. His wife wanted to go to Medjugorje. Being the protecting husband that he was, he decided to accompany his wife to Medjugorje.

The man was not going to church. He had given up on religion. Deciding to accompany his wife to Medjugorje, under the pretext of being her protector on this long trip, their daughter wrote to us about what happened:
“[Dad] felt he needed to accompany her on her long journey. Our Lady heard mom’s prayers and seized the opportunity to convert dad like so many others! He had no clue what Our Lady had in mind.
“Dad’s conversion was his own personal change. The first Sunday after their return from Medjugorje, we saw dad at Church sitting in the pew next to mom. The wink mom gave us confirmed something extraordinary was happening to dad. It wasn’t his words, but his new found joy returning to Sunday Mass, monthly Confessions and daily Rosary. Now, our father of seven was a successful businessman who rarely showed emotions. After visiting Medjugorje he spoke with such love of Our Lady that a few tears of joy flowed from his eyes and from the eyes of all who heard him. Dad never apologized for these tears; he just simply wiped them away with the back of his large hands…”

The dad did not receive huge signs in Medjugorje, but many little signs that were huge within his heart. Years after his conversion in Medjugorje, the dad/husband, died of a sudden heart attack. In a beautiful postscript to this story, he died on the Feast of the Annunciation, a feast of Our Lady. Can it not be that Our Lady orchestrated this man’s conversion taking place in Medjugorje, allowing him to believe that he was there to protect his wife, when in reality, Our Lady had him there for the conversion of his heart, and orchestrating the moment of his death on Her feast day? If there is any doubt, the final sign was that he died at the time that coincides with the moment of Our Lady’s apparition in Medjugorje!
Are you praying for your spouse’s conversion? Your child’s conversion? You just get them to Medjugorje, even if you have to appeal to their “ego.” Say simply, “I really want to go to Medjugorje, but I would feel safer if you came with me.” Let them do a good deed for you, and Our Lady will do a good deed for them. Get them to Medjugorje; Our Lady will orchestrate the rest.
