It was a cold night on Apparition Mountain in Medjugorje in preparation for Our Lady’s apparition to Mirjana this morning, January 2, 2012 at the Blue Cross. About 60 people spent the night at the Blue Cross, praying and singing. Crowds of pilgrims arrived at the location of the apparition at about 6:00 am. The Rosary was prayed in preparation for Our Lady’s apparition. The mysteries of the Rosary were prayed in different languages from Italian to Arabic and Korean. Mirjana arrived at the Blue Cross at 8:25 am. She immediately knelt down and started praying. Our Lady came at 8:35 am. The apparition lasted 6 minutes. Mirjana appeared extremely happy during the entire apparition today. Following is Our Lady’s message given January 2, 2011:

Last month’s message on the day for nonbelievers, December 2, 2011, Our Lady said:
What does this mean? A great omission is the Sabbath violations. These violations have resulted in building a world without God being first, a world of consumerism, even acceptance by Christians of transgressing Sunday by making it a day of buying and selling. As the Tower of Babel was destined to fall, so too the World Trade Center Twin Towers in New York City as it represented the global economic order of our day. Can one think back to that day in September, of the sky, of the unusually crystal clear sky across the whole Eastern seaboard and most of the United States? Was it that the Twin Towers’ falling was supposed to be seen with clarity? That all would know satan’s reign has befallen us? That perfect sky was one of the things that struck and always has stuck in the minds of those that reflected on how evil could have had a perfect walk, without hindrance, towards this destruction. The hijackers, going unhindered through several airport securities, shows us that an unseen force of darkness aided in allowing this action. Our economic order, our way of living, especially the violation of the Sabbath came under divine judgment. The violation of the Sabbath leads to all the other Commandments being broken. Few recognize this omission of sin.
To be unburdened by sin can only happen if you recognize sin. Who recognizes and much less admits to violating the Sabbath in the prevailing spirit of consumerism? Recognizing sin is the first step to unburdening yourself. The Church always teaches, once we confess a sin, we do not have to confess it again. But what of those sins, those omissions, we have never confessed that has made today’s culture what it is, a materialistic world symbolized by the World Trade Center? That we, as Our Lady said, “omissions up until now,” must now recognize and confess. Don’t expect most priests in the confessional to accept the Sabbath violation as a sin. In most cases he won’t, but confess it anyway.*
The tired whole world has a wounded past. It incessantly searches for what it cannot find because it is searching in the wrong place. It must look elsewhere to find happiness. We cannot hope to find happiness anywhere across the earth, rather we must look up to the Father with an open heart, and then, only then, can one find happiness while on the earth. Never has the human heart suffered such pain and despair to the degree we see it in this modern tired world. Some may object to that statement in reviewing all the atrocities of the past, but they still do not equal this time for several reasons.
1. Simply the number of people – seven billion who populate the earth.
2. The ravages of broken families to a degree never experienced, infecting every culture of the world.
These two factors, among many others, have placed countless souls in pain and despair. But Our Lady offers a tremendous gift in this message of January 2, 2012, that can rescue us in our search for hope and truth – a search that will end in happiness. You may not see Our Lady’s plan to rescue you, but just as you may have fallen in the water, becoming disoriented, almost drowning because of no hope, Our Lady now gives this message of hope out of nowhere. This message will end your search because it is your ark to get out of the water of pain and suffering. You need not “be afraid any longer” of drowning.
The newspaper, Sitka Gazette, in Alaska reported a remarkable story of how nature can speak to us, paralleling Our Lady’s words of how God the Father can help us in ending our search to be rescued. The Gazette reported, Tom Satre and others were out in his 62-foot fishing vessel in the waters of Alaska when he saw four black-tailed deer swimming toward his boat.
Tom said, “Once the deer reached the boat, the four began to circle the boat, looking directly at us. We could tell right away that the young bucks were distressed. I opened up my back gate and we helped the typically skittish and absolutely wild animals onto the boat. In all my years fishing, I’ve never seen anything quite like it! Once onboard, they collapsed with exhaustion, shivering.”
Our Lady gives an incredible message for the tired world, exhausted in its incessant search to be rescued. Just open your hearts to the Father, collapse in His care, His ark, the Mother of God. Her words will give you warmth. “Do not be afraid.” Our Lady said once you are rescued, you will feel the love and “you will love and you will not be afraid.” You can stop shivering from the pain and suffering of past times in the waters of despair and hopelessness.
Tom’s experience on his boat and in his epic journey speaks to us clearly, just as the cloudless clear blue sky of 911, of what Our Lady has told us.

Tom states: (These are) “the rescued bucks on the back of my boat, the Alaska Quest. We headed for Taku Harbour. Once we reached the dock, the first buck that we had pulled from the water hopped onto the dock, looked back as if to say ‘thank you’ and disappeared into the forest. After a bit of prodding and assistance, two more followed, but the smallest deer needed a little more help.”
“This is me carrying the little guy.”
(We) “helped the last buck to its feet. We didn’t know how long they had been in the icy waters or if there had been others who did not survive.”
How many nonbelievers have not survived for eternity? God’s mercy, despite our past, is giving not just mercy, but Divine Mercy. In this time when satan is without chains, he comes to wound, to destroy, and harvest souls. With Motherly concern, Our Lady sees your pain and suffering. You must open your heart and see Her way to end your search. Once finding the way to happiness, your tired soul, this tired world, will find rest, just as the deer found at the end of their search, that they were not afraid to enter the boat and found, therein, happiness and peace.

It was a very cold night in Medjugorje, but despite the low temperature, there was a group of approximately 60 undaunted pilgrims who gathered around the Blue Cross during the night to await Our Lady for Her January 2, 2012 apparition, Mirjana’s first apparition of the New Year. Other pilgrims began arriving around 6:00 a.m. with heavy coats and blankets and pilgrims continued to arrive up until the time of the apparition.
With Medjugorje visionary Mirjana’s arrival, all eyes focused upon her, and silence finally settled on those gathered, knowing these were the last moments to recollect oneself before Our Lady’s appearance.
Mirjana’s face tilts upward, alighted with joy, giving everyone in the crowd the sign that Our Lady was now amongst them on this frosty Monday morning of January 2, 2012.
“So much of Our Lady’s messages speak to us of how to approach life, how to be satisfied and content with life regardless of its circumstances. Our Lady tells us how to behave, how to act, how to think…If we listen to the world, what Our Lady suggests is not practical because what Our Lady requests, by the world’s thinking, is impractical…Our Lady asks us to live a new way, but the human voice within us will cry out that Our Lady doesn’t really mean for us to change our life’s direction, rather just pray a little more, convert perhaps a little more. No! This is not the case. Our Lady calls for a radical change in answering Her call, not toward the world but toward the spiritual life connected to God.”

Unlike many apparitions of Mirjana that we have seen throughout the years, in this apparition, Mirjana never lost her joyful countenance. She could be seen crying on her arrival to the Blue Cross, but once Our Lady appeared, Mirjana smiled happily throughout the apparition, even during the giving of the message. Perhaps Our Lady’s demeanor, as described by Mirjana as being “very decided” had this impact on Mirjana. Our Lady will often show by Her own gestures and demeanor Her sorrow over the world’s condition, and that sorrow, which Mirjana internalizes when She sees Our Lady’s pain, is then reflected on her own face. But, perhaps today, those emotions were absent in Mirjana’s face because Our Lady appeared, on this first day of the year, with a demeanor that evoked confidence and determination. It brings to mind a message Our Lady once gave to encourage such confidence and determination in Her followers:

“Dear children, I would like this time to be the time of decision. Make a decision, dear children, follow me, follow me! I cannot do anything, and I want to do a lot, but I cannot do it without you. Your decisions are weak! Pray, dear children, during this time. Only through prayer can you receive this strength, this vigor. I will help you, dear children.”
Mirjana’s eyes follow Our Lady as She ascends into the heavens, ending the encounter of January 2, 2012.
While the message is being recorded and translated, the crowd waits expectantly for Our Lady’s words given today through Mirjana. They will be the first to hear these fresh words from Heaven. Yet, before the sun sets on Medjugorje today, January 2, 2012, this message will have reached around the entire world, from large rivers, into the smallest rivulets, the farthest corners of the earth.
It is an amazing thing to contemplate not only the meaning of the words given today by Our Lady, but actually the paper, the ink, the individual vowels and consonants that form these words—that we have words from Heaven given to us, directly from the mouth of the Virgin Mary who She says these messages are conveyed to Her from the Father. Our Lady conveys them through Her visionaries to us, Her children.

I am now experiencing homelessness for the very first time in my life. I do believe the the messages from Our Lady are not to be taken lightly. Every word and every sentence need to be reread over to implant what she is conveying to us all. I will try my best to send out these messages to others. I hope to become a strong and self-sufficient person, so that I can then help my son, mother, family, friends, and strangers. I am learning that we must remain connected to other souls on this earth and that what Our Sweet Lady Mother Mary says is the truth, the way, and the light. If we surrender ourselves like the deer who were rescued on the boat to Christ Our Lord that living on earth can and is like heaven, and I truly believe that our passing from this life to the next will be effortless. Through Her great guidance and intercession and Her Son Jesus Christ we can become closer than ever to heaven’s call, if only we let ourselves be rescued. Thank you for your great love.

Since I got the Jan.2 message of Our Lady somehow I have this desire to translate it in my Filipino language, I read it to my mother who was very appreciative, I believe that the message spoke to her and to me more being delivered in the language of our souls. This prompted me to share it also to my contacts who otherwise may not have heard of Our Lady of Medjugorje. I hope in this way, I can help propagate Our Lady’s messages. Dear Mama Mary, please help me to live your messages not just passing it on to others. Thank Father God for giving Our Blessed Mother to intercede for us. Thank you Caritas. Praise the Lord Jesus & Our Loving Mother Mary. Yes indeed, the power of satan is moving in our midst destroying & breaking the divine bond of marriages, create havoc in the world economy with many people left jobless & in deep poverty. World leaders who are cruel & greed. However, with Mother Mary our New Prophet, She brings hope & peace to our restless world through her intercession with our Saviour Jesus Christ. please continue to pray incessantly as advised by our beloved Mother.
This message could not have come at a better time; speaking volumes, it is so positive and has made me more aware of how much Our Father in Heaven loves each & every one of us. And whilst I listen and respond to to Him in Our Lady’s care, all my anxiety dissipates; my prayers continue for those Jesus has chosen especially Priests and religious – those called to ministry, and all God’s people. In the love of Jesus and Mary, our Mother.
Last night I started my Bible reading all over again for the New Year, and I was surprised to read in Genesis about taking animals in the Ark, so they wouldn’t drown while the world was being punished by God by flood for sins. It was so coincidential to read that after reading this article about not drowning the same day.
Thank You very much again and again MAMA MARY for your inspiring messages… I do cry everytime i read your messages. I know my faith is deteriorating….Please pray for me and my family too. Thank You for the reminder about keeping holy the Sabbath! I’ve been employed with a major airline for many years, and I’ve had to endure working on Sundays and holidays, most notably Christmas, whereby I could not spend those days with my family and friends. Oh, how much anger was in my heart when so many people traveled on those days forcing others to work! Yet, all along it’s been us “Christians” of this country who were breaking the Sabbath! Truly an “omission of sin” failed to be seen by many and certainly not preached from the pulpit. Please continue to speak this truth! Thank you Mother Mary; thank you Caritas!!

Every Christmas I feel sad because my family not celebrating the Birth of our Lord.They were not Catholics. They just celebrated their family Get Together. They can not understand how I am having such faith. It is so difficult to make them understand. For family respect I was with them but in my heart, I was with my Lord Jesus and Mother Mary. I have finished my prayers early, went to the church, fulfilled my responsibilities to the Church and went with them. Because they can’t accept my absence.Our parish Priest said that I have to be a star among them and show the difference. My Lord gave me courage and I am sure mother Mary was interceding me.Thanks be to God our Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit!
This beautiful message of hope from Our Lady gives me hope for the future. A future that need not be full of pain and looking back, but looking forward to live a happy life, giving all to Our Father in heaven.
Yes, the violation of the Sabbath started here in N Ireland in the late 1980s but I believe the culture here was changing rapidly for young people and few (including some parents who abandoned their responsibilities) took up the offer to talk, support and help them, especially in the area of their behavior … (I know this from working voluntary with young in 1990s – which inspired me to pray for themevery day). Again few recognised this as omission of sin, sadly. There was only a handful of mothers willing to help. Lets hope Irish people (including myself – come with my hands up) will repent of omission and know they are forgiven and stop projecting their pain now onto our priests and Thank God that He sent His blessed Mother Mary to us to get back on track. Perhaps because I know I am can be an “unbeliever” at times. But reading the messages gives me the hope in the mercy of our Lord. That changes the whole perspective!
