Join in the worldwide 9-day bread and water fast, October 25 – November 2, 2010
The Community of Caritas does several 9-day fasts a year. This is in response to Our Lady of Medjugorje’s call to fasting and penance. In 2001, A Friend of Medjugorje and the Community extended one of the fasts to people all over the world to join. Several thousand people all over the world joined in the 9-day bread and water fast. Every year since then, annually the 9-day fast is extended to all the followers of Medjugorje, and of Our Lady.
Join the Caritas Community in Their Annual 9-Day Bread and Water Fasting Novena – Oct. 25-Nov. 2, 2010
For the 9-day fasting novena, you will be assigned a single day of 2011 in which your fast will be offered to bind satan from his activity for the Nation and the World. You can call Caritas of Birmingham to receive the day your fast will sponsor. Again, you fast 9 days on bread and water, and your 9-day fast covers one day of 2011, to bind satan. Your day is assigned in the order you call us.
You may call 205-672-2000 to be given the day of 2011 that your 9-day fasting novena, beginning October 25, 2010, and finishing November 2, 2010, will cover. It is important you receive a day so that we can be sure all 365 days of 2011 will be covered by an individual with a 9-day fast. Again the 9-day fasting novena is October 25-November 2, 2010, and your assigned day for 2011 is not a fast day, rather the day that you are assigned in 2011 to be covered in prayer by your October 25–November 2, 2010, 9-day fast.
This year, the dates that worked out, were from the 25th of October to the 2nd of November, which are both days Our Lady gives messages in Medjugorje. The 25th is the day Our Lady gives a message for the world through visionary Marija, and the 2nd, which is a day designated by Our Lady in Medjugorje as a day of prayer for nonbelievers, is the day Our Lady also gives a message through visionary Mirjana. So, this year’s novena is extra special, in light of the fact that we begin the 9-day fast with a fresh message of Our Lady, and end the 9-day fast with another fresh message from Our Lady. Again, you may call 205-672-2000 to be given the day of 2011 that your 9-day fasting novena, beginning October 25, 2010, and finishing November 2, 2010, will cover.

tell people the truth, its through Jesus Christ that we are saved but through mary. mary cant save or pray for any one or even forgive. its only Jesus Christ, be BORN AGAIN. STOP MISS LEADING innocent people.
This is really wonderful and I have put my attending into our Lady’s hands. The only caution I feel is that whenever Our Lady asks for a country/nation to be consecrated she always asks for the hierarchy to offer the prayer of consecration. It is a lovely notion for us as laity to offer our country but it lacks something of the tradition of Our Lady’s way.
Thank GOD and Our Lady, we are coming! We have a family reunion (1st in 21 years) on the East Coast so we will leave to make it to Caritas by July 2nd. Cannot wait! Called again to come, just like in 2008 – then as now our lives are topsy turvy and the country a mess. Hotel booked, prayers starting for a safe long trip to be with you all and Our Mother. Yippee!

So thankful to have been present the last two years.As I try to grow the people joining me I felt the need to ask: Are their any programs centered around young adults – teenagers? I had a vision of a youth leader from the community gathering teens for more active worship, and works – maybe even projects in the valley and fellowship?They might be more apt to acts of penance and learning from peers? Looking forward to attending and praying I can double our #’s from last year all for Our Lady. May Our Lady keep us all on our travels and the valley under her mantle, in Jesus’s name.
We thank God for His unconditional Love for each of us and for the gift of our Blessed Mother, in whose love and care we rely for help
A few weeks ago In the wee hours of the morning I was in my garden praying. I looked up at the moon, the wind blew and I felt myself in the field, I thought, Caritas is looking at the same Moon praying at this moment. Then I prayed and asked, “Please Our Lady come again soon.” I long to be in the field and to be with Our Lady. Today is my birthday and today is my husband’s birthday, (yes we were born on the same day) it has been a cold wet rainy day…..But We are so Blessed with the best gift of all, News of Our Lady’s coming. We have already made our reservations….
We came for the first time in 2010 and our Blessed Mother touched us and our family in a powerful way. it will be a glorious 2 days of driving and praying the rosary there and back home we already booked our hotel. Thanks for coming Dear Lady.
