Our Lady of Medjugorje said October 2, 2016:
A Caritas pilgrim climbing Cross Mountain barefoot. This is a common thing to see, as the grace of Medjugorje increases the grace of sacrifice.
Our Lady’s apostles of Her love are those who pray, sacrifice and love – those charged with spreading the truth. A Friend of Medjugorje recently told a Caritas pilgrim group that many years ago he prayed to understand more about sacrifice. As he prayed and read the messages, he found Our Lady’s words of March 27, 1986:
Love is at the root of every good sacrifice pleasing to God. The upcoming 9-day bread and water fast begins tomorrow, October 6. We know that there are those who have felt the call to do this 9-day fast, but have not answered the call because of timidity, fear, or other reasons. Apostles of Her Love, spread the truth of this needed grace. The root of this sacrifice is love. A Friend of Medjugorje and the Caritas Community are doing this fast, are inviting others to do this fast, because of love for our nation and the salvation of souls. If there ever was a year that this fast is needed, it is this year. Many throughout the world are joining in the 9-day fast, knowing their own future is affected by this fast.
