Will We Be Prepared?

Message cards in the Caritas Mission House in Medjugorje, displayed in different languages, available free for all who come. A Friend of Medjugorje started giving out these cards when the Caritas Mission House opened in 1996. Now, 23 years later, pilgrims can still come to get Our Lady’s words in various languages at the Mission House, free of charge. Tens of thousands of these cards are given out each month.

We received the following feedback, after Friday night’s call to pray in union with Ivan on the mountain:

May 17, 2019

“Hello, I have a confession to make. Although I saw this e-mail [the Medjugorje Newsletter we sent earlier in the day] and was inspired to take heed to what it said, I only achieved the part about stopping what I was doing to be in prayer at my appointed time. However, I wasn’t on my knees because I only breezed through the e-mail and didn’t catch everything. I’m sorry about that. Hopefully the fact that I was sitting down was okay. My appointed time was 4:00 PM Eastern, coinciding with 10:00 PM Medjugorje time. I only STARTED praying at that time – I failed to read the part about having started the Rosary 20 minutes PRIOR.

“I know these are not sins, but I hope what I did was sufficient enough for Our Lady. In fact, while I was in the church praying, it was overcast, but all of a sudden it became very bright inside the church. At this point I don’t know if that was the sun coming out and lighting up the church from outside or if that was Our Lady acknowledging me. I checked behind the altar and tried to get into the sacristy to see if anyone was in there that might have turned any lights on, but it was locked. It was ‘interesting’ how the church got bright like that during my fifth decade. Could it have been Our Lady?”

In our response we stated very simply that certainly Our Lady showed him a grace in the church. Our Lady took him where he was and we pointed out where to find out more about being on our knees at the time Our Lady appears, linked below. This call today, is a call to return to our recognition of Our Lady’s apparition time. It is easy in the busyness of life for Medjugorje people to go about their daily lives and forget what is happening in the world, every day or to excuse not stopping at apparition time. A Friend of Medjugorje has been faithful to this time for over 30 years. The Caritas Community’s life stops at that moment. For one who understands Medjugorje, there would be no life at this moment, without Our Lady’s apparitions.

Our Lady’s words of April 25, 2019, “This is a time of grace, a time of mercy for each of you,” are an indicator of the times we live in. It was beautiful to see the childlike faith of M.V. above, and his concern that what he did was pleasing to Our Lady. Are we, those who follow Our Lady every day of the same childlike faith? We know more, we are more accountable, therefore, more is required. In just two days, Our Lady will give another message for the world, through Marija. Will we be prepared and on our knees?
