August 8, 2018 A.D.
The Community of Caritas was present at Marija’s apparition on August 5, 2018. Prayer began at around 5:15 p.m. Medjugorje time, in preparation for Marija’s apparition of Our Lady on August 5, Our Lady’s Birthday. The Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious Mysteries were prayed. Then Marija came out and all present prayed the Salve Regina. Marija then spoke in Croatian, Italian and English, saying that it was the time for Our Lady’s apparition and that she would present all our intentions during the apparition. All of the petitions of those who sent them on Medjugorje.com were printed out and brought to Marija’s apparition to be presented by the Caritas Community during this apparition on August 5. Marija asked everyone to kneel down. Marija then began praying the 7 Our Fathers, Hail Mary’s and Glory Be’s. Our Lady appeared in the middle of these prayers and the apparition lasted over 3 minutes long. Marija’s description of the apparition follows:
“At the moment of the apparition, I recommended all of you, all your intentions, and all that is in your heart. I especially presented to Our Lady all the young people present here in these days. I asked Her to accompany them as they go home and to help them continue in their conversion. Our Lady then smiled and began to pray. She prayed for a long time. Then Our Lady blessed all of us and left in the Sign of the Cross.”
Our Lady has a deep love in Her heart for the youth. Our Lady gave very sound advice to the young people on June 13, 1983, when She said:
Our Lady has been given a new efficacy in this time, unlike any time before this. There is power in Her words. Through Her apparitions in Medjugorje, faith is increasing. It is the voice of the Blessed Virgin which we should pay attention. One can deny God, deny Our Lady in everyday life, in the culture, but that would put one on the losing side. The world, the words of satan are losing. Our Lady’s words will win. This is the advice for young people everywhere. This is the advice for families, for individuals, for clergy, for everyone. Make the choice. Do not deny Her. Listen to Her. She is the voice we are to pay attention to.

Who is a Friend of Medjugorje?
The stars shine brightly above a re-creation of the house of Joachim and Anne, the parents of Our Lady, in the Field of Apparitions at Caritas on the night of Mary’s Eve, August 4, 2018. This house is the very first re-creation of the nativity of the Virgin Mary, ever built, which a Friend of Medjugorje had built for the first public celebration of Our Lady’s birthday, in August 2005. The petitions of those who sent them on Medjugorje.com were placed in the Bedroom of Apparitions on this day, August 4.
In seeing the stars above, we are reminded of what a Friend of Medjugorje said in an encounter with thousands of pilgrims at Caritas in 1999:
“…But your witness is so critical, and what we are to be is as the stars in the night who say nothing but say everything by their brilliance. Silent. It’s your witness, it’s your witness, it’s your witness…”1

Our Lady, Who has been silent in Her words through the ages, is witnessing to us in this, Her time, giving us light and beauty, as She told us on January 2, 2017:
In an age which promotes its own “stars” we honor the True Star of this time, the Holy Virgin Mary, on Whom God has placed the spotlight, and through Whom God is speaking to the world today. As a Friend of Medjugorje stated above, it is Her voice which we should pay attention in this time, She is the Star to follow and imitate.
