Our Lady of Medjugorje’s words, said on January 25, 2019, are a striking reminder of a power we have, which makes it so that Our Lady, ‘cannot’:
“…I am with you and am praying for you but I cannot without your ‘yes’…”
Our free will allows or prevents Our Lady from being able to help us.

Mirjana prayerfully waits for Our Lady to appear on March 18, 2018. Do our hearts anticipate Our Lady’s presence in the world at the moment She appears? Do we anxiously wait for that moment when Heaven is opened in a special way? The gift of Our Lady’s presence is overlooked by many. Let our hearts at least be prepared to receive Her.
Our Lady has been given a new power to act upon the earth. A Friend of Medjugorje wrote in, Never in History:
“…This Mother who is also a Queen, unknown to many and not understood by many who do know Her, will have a great new efficacy, a power to dispense graces for any and all matters that a Mother would need for the sake of saving Her children. This will be a new chapter in the history of the world—a first in Christendom…”
Yet, this new chapter in the history of the world will have one roadblock: your heart. Without openess, without your ‘yes’, Our Lady will be ‘cannot’ to help you. It is important in this time, to continually give Our Lady our hearts, our prayers, especialy for those who do not want to convert, that a crack, a sliver of a crack can be put in their/our hearts for Our Lady to get a ‘yes’, even if only a timid one, to allow Her to work in our hearts. “A power to dispense graces for any and all matters that a Mother would need for the sake of saving Her children.” !!!! I needed to hear this tonight! And pray for even “a sliver” in mine and my children’s and my husband’s heart! Nothing is by chance! We are not united by chance! The novena to St. Joseph has been amazing! Ups and downs dealing with teens…but my husband, who has said before, “I can’t pray the rosary!” Maybe better understood as an “I won’t!”, has now prayed with us 4 of the days so far. So much going on in the world and in our nation…it’s hard to not be afraid, especially if we haven’t been able to prepare as you encourage us to. So step by step…But I want to say for others like myself, that in Matt chapter 6…our Lord is asking us to trust.We may not be totally prepared! But, I think there is a call to trust…no matter how difficult. Did God not provide manna in the desert?!! Well, we not only have Him, but we also have Her!! Praying for the strength of faith!
