Today is the Time of Separation

Our Lady in Medjugorje is showing us for years, that we have not distinguished ourselves from non-believers by living our faith…

The following was originally written by A Friend of Medjugorje in 1992. We have seen that much of what was written has proven to be prophetic, and is a message for us to heed the call of Our Lady. Our Lady of Medjugorje is showing us the future. – Medjugorje.com

For years, we have not distinguished ourselves from non-believers by living our faith. Many Catholics and other Christians have tolerated going to a movie to listen to God’s name being used in vain. If we say we love our God, why do we accept this and continue to go to movies? A pagan himself would not tolerate his own father being cursed! There is a price to pay in being children of Mary and dedicated to Her plans. To live the holy, Christian life, Our Lady wants us to give up many things which society thinks are not bad at all. Today is the time we must revolt against all these things. This means if the movie industry contradicts God’s precepts, then we simply must quit going. Most of Our Lady’s monthly messages begin with the word, “Today.” Today is the time of separation; the time when the weeds which were allowed to grow together with the wheat need to be separated.

Matthew 13:24-30

He proposed to them another parable: “The reign of God may be likened to a man who sowed good seed in his field. While everyone was asleep, his enemy came and sowed weeds through his wheat, and then made off. When the crop began to mature and yield grain, the weeds made their appearance as well. The owner’s slaves came to him and said, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? Where are the weeds coming from?’ He answered, ‘I see an enemy’s hand in this.’ His slaves said to him, ‘Do you want us to go out and pull them up?’ ‘No,’ he replied, ‘pull up the weeds and you might take the wheat along with them. Let them grow together until harvest; then at harvest time I will order the harvesters, first collect the weeds and bundle them up to burn, then gather the wheat into my barn.’”

We Christians have been growing alongside of pagans, laughing at their jokes, and listening to their music and entertaining ourselves with shows they produce, etc. Are we really any different from them? It is harvest time. We must distinguish ourselves by our lives as to whether we are weeds or wheat. The first monthly message to the world, after six years of apparitions, called for a radical change in life:

January 25, 1987

“…today I want to call you to start living a new life as of today…”

This is a time for choosing life or death. Lot’s son-in-laws flatly refused to listen and leave. Lot tried in vain to get his wife to be obedient and go all the way, leaving Sodom behind. Like her, many are reluctant to go all the way to follow Our Lady’s call to change our lives and rid ourselves of all hindrances to a holy life. Some try for awhile but, after a few months or years, gradually lose their perseverance in living the messages. We must remember that Lot was righteous and lived this way for a certain extended span of time in Sodom, probably detached from the evils there. We, too, must make an uncompromising commitment to live Our Lady’s messages. Our Lady is pleading on our behalf as Abraham pleaded for his people. “God, let me find fifty,…forty,…ten just people. God, will You spare the city for the sake of the innocent?”

If Abraham had found even ten innocent people, God would have spared Sodom. God never said He would not chastise the wicked in Sodom, but only that He would spare it. Our Lady is before God now, pleading to let Her find Her “ten” to spare the world. It doesn’t mean the world will be spared chastisement, but it will be spared from the sure path of the destruction it is on.

  1. I have read your article. Although I am not a Roman Catholic, I find inspiration, peace and reassurance by visiting you website regularly. I am inspiried by the messages of hope and reassurance that are conveyed therein. Thank you for your continued, and valued work, and the reassurance that in spite of all of the travails that the Church is facing in the present age, it will survive and emerge the stronger and more relevant in these troubled times. 2. Incredible. Just of late I have become very uneasy when the holy name of Jesus is profaned on television or indeed in general conversation. Jesus, grant us courage to challenge those who profane your holy name and to divorce ourselves from a way of life which is contrary to your teachings and truth.

  3. I was called by Our Lady in August 2010 and this Easter will join the mother Vhurch. So thankful, but yes as my sight improves I see so many that are lost and pray for them. The ten are here, we are ready to do as you wish. But we are weak Mother, at least I am, and need guidance with hope, please pray for our strength. Thank you Caritas for the last two years of visits with Marija and Our Lady in the valley. The last time I brought recent converts and they were transformed by Our Lady’s gifts and the community. Caritas community and the valley is in my prayers. May God bless all that post and the community, Field Angels, and all that visit the valley and read our Friend’s words. And may our Friend continue to be guided and graced with wisdom and strength. Praise be to Jesus and Mary forever.

  4. I strongly believe we are living times of destruction, but a spiritually destruction, we, the ones who try to follow Jesus, and Our Lady’s messages, must pray, and pray continuously during the day, to have mercy on all of us, to have mercy on the whole world. We are on Lent time, a time for a stronger conversion, to do penance for the conversion of those who do not believe. Let us wake up!! let us try do our best to cooperate with our Blessed Mother, at least let’s do fast and pray at this time of Lent May our Lord bless you all, and our Blessed Mother cover you all under Her mantle. VIVA CRISTO REY!!!!!!

  5. This article deeply discerns the apathy that we, as Catholics, have allowed our lives in general to become immersed in. Would that a simple, yet profound, wise yet lovingly approachable, tender yet admonishing person would come in to our world and straighten us out! Oh wait!! We have that need deeply provided for. It is: OUR LADY OF MEDJUGORJE!

  7. Thank You for another reminder that we must separate from the evil in this world, keeping our eyes firmly on God. Heaven help us! Pray,Pray, Pray for our country and it’s “leaders” to find god’s love.

  8. I see the path of destruction we are on. Heaven help us. Mother Mary we need your constant love and guidance or we will not make it. Help us to be Holy. How many times we fall. Pray to your son to give us the grace to get back up and keep persevering. We ALL need you. Thank-you Jesus for all you are doing in this world.
