The Delegation Goes to Medjugorje

The Delegation Goes to Medjugorje

On his pilgrimage to Sarajevo, Pope John Paul II was accompanied by 11 high-ranking officers of the Holy See, journalists from the Vatican, representatives from the Secretary of State and two bishops. During the visit, the delegation, made up of about 30 people, made a visit to Medjugorje, through the Holy Father’s insistence. Though he had already made known his wish to go to Medjugorje himself, without the local bishop’s invitation, the Pope would not go against his authority. But that didn’t stop him from sending his own delegation to visit the Holy Village of Our Lady.
