On the 24th anniversary of the apparitions, the most recent scientific examinations were performed, at the request of the Holy See, specfically Pope Benedict XVI, who with Pope John Paul II, held an interest in the Medjugorje apparitions. The testing brought together again visionaries Ivan and Marija and Professor Henri Joyeau with a French team of experts, who were given the opportunity to compare the scientific studies of 20 years ago with the present day experiences of the visionaries. The testing and the final results continued throughout the year and were sent to the Vatican in June 2006.
