Marija arrived at the home of a Friend of Medjugorje and his wife in Alabama to be with the Caritas Community and pilgrims for five days, November 23-28, 2016. Marija arrived very late the night before, though Our Lady had waited to have Her apparition until Her arrival, which took place at 11:40 p.m. Regarding today’s apparition, Our Lady said it would be in the Field of Apparitions and that, “When you pray, I will come.” This response of Our Lady always elicits great joy among the community. A Friend of Medjugorje chose to not have the apparition until the evening so that everyone traveling would have the opportunity to be present for the apparition. Prayer and singing began in the Field of Apparitions around 5:00 p.m. This led into the prayer of the Rosary in preparation for Our Lady’s apparition which took place just after 7:00 p.m. In the apparition, before She gave Her blessing, She extended Her hands and prayed over all present for a long time. Marija said that Our Lady was happy and when She prayed, Her eyes were open, scanning the crowd. This apparition was significant in that the date of this year’s Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2016, lined up perfectly with the date of the very first apparition in the Field on Thanksgiving day on November 24, 1988.
