Our Lady Names the Chapel of the Two Hearts

Of the six Medjugorje visionaries, only three continued to receive daily apparitions. Of these three, Marija’s apparitions were more accessible to the public than Ivan’s and Vicka’s. But, as the apparitions were in her home, it was a great burden on her family as her home would be filled with upwards to a hundred or more people every evening. To relieve the pressure for the protection of her family, it was suggested to Marija to build a chapel outside her home where she could go for her apparitions, while keeping the privacy of her home. Marija and her husband, Paolo, began building a small chapel in the year 2000. It was completed just before the twentieth anniversary. Marija wanted to present it as an anniversary gift to Our Lady to thank Her for these 20 years of apparitions. She and Paolo had prayed a novena asking that Our Lady would name their chapel. On June 24, in her apparition that took place at the Church in the Adoration Chapel, Marija presented the chapel to Our Lady and said:

“We give this chapel for you. What name do you desire it to be given?”

When asked, Our Lady smiled and lovingly held up Her first two fingers, signifying the number two, and then pointed to Her heart and traced a heart with Her finger. Marija was flooded with emotion, tears, and joy when realizing that Our Lady had named their chapel, Chapel of the Two Hearts. Our Lady revealed the name so sweetly and lovingly, showing through Her gesture how deeply She was touched by Marija and Paolo’s gift to Her on the 20th anniversary of Her apparitions in Medjugorje.
