Monthly Message

Our Lady begins the New Year, and the year dedicated by the Church to Her Son, Jesus Christ, with words of warning. On January 25, 1997, She says:

“…I invite you to reflect about your future. You are creating a new world without God, only with your own strength and that is why you are unsatisfied and without joy in the heart…”

Then Our Lady makes a bold statement saying:

“…This time is my time…”

It was 10 years ago today that Our Lady gave the first monthly message to the world, saying:

“…I want you to comprehend that God has chosen each one of you, in order to use you in a great plan for the salvation of the world. You are not able to comprehend how great your role is in God’s design…I am with you in order that you may be able to bring it about in all its fullness…”

There is a promise from Our Lady in this message, even though after 16 years of apparitions, Our Lady gives no indication that the world is converting; rather it is creating a “new world without God.” That is why God has given “time” to Our Lady. In the first days of the apparitions, when visionary, Mirjana, asked Our Lady repeatedly to give a sign to the people to help them believe in Her apparitions, Mirjana noticed a strange thing. After the apparition, she noticed that her watch was moving backward. Years later, a Friend of Medjugorje discerned the “signs of the times,” in the sign given of the watch moving backward. He believed it meant that the cup of God’s justice had filled to the brim. God could no longer tolerate the sins of the world. The time of mercy was tipping to the time of justice. But Our Lady interceded on behalf of mankind and asked for a certain period of time to turn the world back around to God. A Friend of Medjugorje imagined God saying, “There is no more time.” Our Lady, knowing God would give Her anything that She asked answered back, “Then turn time backwards. Turn back time.”
