Since February 2, 1990, visionary, Mirjana, had entered a new stage in her experience with Our Lady. In February 1990, Our Lady appeared to Mirjana in an apparition like She does with the other visionaries. Before that time, Our Lady had been communicating with Mirjana primarily through interior locutions on the second of each month. But since 1990, Our Lady has appeared to Mirjana every second of the month in a regular apparition. These were private apparitions in which Mirjana prayed with Our Lady, but on this day of February 2, 1997, Our Lady invited everyone to begin attending Mirjana’s apparitions. The following is Mirjana’s account of what Our Lady told her:
“Please tell everyone that Our Lady’s apparition to me on the second of the month will now be like the regular apparitions to Vicka, Ivan, Jakov, and Marija. Our Lady said that whoever wants to be present at that apparition can come. Our Lady said that much prayer is needed for those who have not yet come to know the love of God. This is all.â€
This created a great movement of prayer among those following Our Lady, because Our Lady was initiating something new. No one could anticipate at the time how important the second of the month apparitions would become in helping Our Lady to open the hearts of non-believers around the world.
