While Marija was with the Caritas Community in Alabama, a Friend of Medjugorje interviewed her on July 20, 2008 in regards to the Special Blessing. When a Friend of Medjugorje had asked Our Lady, through Marija, to give the Special Blessing to all the pilgrims on the last day of the prayer gathering for America’s return to God, on July 5, 2008, Marija said Our Lady had smiled and then She gave Her blessing. In the interview, Marija said that Our Lady wants the Special Blessing to be used. It is a blessing that once one receives it, they in turn can bless other people, not as a priest blesses, but one person at a time. Our Lady gives the blessing to help change mentalities, a grace that is always active to lead souls towards God during their entire lives. She grants the grace to those who receive it, to bless others because She desires our will to unite with Hers to help lead souls to conversion.
