Visionary, Marija, returned to Caritas of Birmingham to be with a Friend of Medjugorje, his family and the Caritas Community for a semi-private visit September 11-17, 2014. On this Feast of the Triumph of the Cross, September 14, the Community of Caritas and guests gathered to begin the climb up the mountain to the Cross for the apparition. The Stations of the Cross were prayed on the way up to the Cross. And at the top the Rosary began. Our Lady appeared exactly at 3:00 p.m. Marija said that when Our Lady came She prayed over everyone and blessed everyone. Marija said:
“Our Lady blessed us. And I think it is beautiful also to be here. Through this Cross, Our Lady and God blessed us with all our good deeds, all our sacrifices, all our life…”
After describing the apparition, Marija invited all to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. A week before the event, the community was given as a gift, a relic of the True Cross. Marija suggested that each person present come up and venerate the relic. For the next several hours, all those present stood in line for their turn to venerate and bless themselves with the relic of the True Cross at the foot of the Cross on Penitentiary Mountain.
