“Shock and Awe”

On March 19, 2003, United States president, George W. Bush, declares war on Iraq. On March 20th, the United States air strike, known as “Shock and Awe,” begins on Iraq, particularly directed at Baghdad. Coalition ground troops enter Iraq on March 21st. It is interesting to note that the very same word that Mirjana used to describe Our Lady’s “stern” demeanor as “awe”—was used in the name of the attack on Baghdad the very next day, “Shock and Awe.” Could there be a connection especially in light of Our Lady’s call for peace over the past several months?
