Thy Will Be Done

Thy Will Be Done

Abandoning ourselves completely to God is opening our hearts to His Holy Will in our lives…

October 22, 2013 A.D.

The call of Mary is to abandon ourselves completely to Her and to God. This is one of the most frequent messages in Medjugorje – abandon yourselves to God. Holiness is total abandonment to the Will of God! To renounce our own will and instead put the Will of God in our lives is essential to holiness…

Medjugorje then is this “School of Holiness,” where holiness is available and given to each pilgrim – if he wants! The only thing we have to do is to make a decision for holiness and abandon ourselves completely to God:

“I ask you to abandon yourself completely to God.”(March 25, 1989 and many, many other messages)

“Put your life in God’s hands.” (January 25, 1988)1

Abandoning ourselves completely to God is opening our hearts to His Holy Will in our lives. Mirjana was once asked about the importance of doing God’s Will. She responded:

“The Blessed Mother has taught me that nothing matters in a person’s life but faithfulness to God’s Will. God made us for Himself. So many people today waste their earthly lives on things that pass away. So many people today do not know God. So many people today have made gods out of things, goals, and other people. For them there is only weeping and anguish because our life on earth is so short – so very short.” 2

When asked about people who don’t pray, Ivanka, one of the six visionaries from Medjugorje said:

“People know whether they are living in God’s Will or not by how much peace they have. If they don’t feel peace in their hearts, they know they are not doing the right thing. Those who are doing God’s Will have peace. Their life is filled with joy and contentment, even in the midst of the worst sorrow.” 3

A Friend of Medjugorje has stated:

“As St. Louis de Montfort previously stated, that without sacrificing to Mary unreservedly all our material possessions, our family, our income, and even the inner possessions of our soul, then we cannot say that we are entirely consecrated to Jesus through Her.

“The hardest sacrifice we may have to surrender is that of our own will and desires for our lives.

“For if we hold back from God our wills, attachments, bodies, souls, possessions, and our decisions to change then He cannot acknowledge that we are entirely consecrated.” 4

Let us pray every day to recognized God’s Will in our lives and that we be given the grace to embrace and live it. The more we surrender ourselves to God, the more His peace and mercy will enter and remain in our hearts.
