There is no doubt that this world needs this 9-day bread and water fast. Our Lady’s recent words of October 2, 2018 tell us:
As mentioned before, fasting brings one’s heart low, in humility before God. The Fasting Novena prayer, written by a Friend of Medjugorje reads:
“O Queen of Heaven, we unite ourselves with others across the land in a holy fast, reminiscent of the so many times ancient Israel cried out in repentance to their God. By their history, we know God the Most High will hear our cry. We humble ourselves because of our sins… O Mary, these days of fasting we wish to empty our hearts of everything useless. Cleanse us. Let this fast purify us and atone for everything that has defiled us. O Mary, Queen of Peace, let our hearts be refilled through Your hands with whatever graces are necessary to reconcile us, our families, and our nation back to God…”
There are times in history, such as with ancient Israel, that the times require drastic action, out of ordinary life to bring about an extraordinary result. Now is such a time. As we humble ourselves in prayer, fasting and sacrifice, we bring our hearts low before God, that He may see the sincerity of our hearts and bring us to the triumph of Our Lady. “Dear Forever Friends. After many years of offering Our Lady bread and water fasts, I am no longer able to do so due to several medical conditions that have been a bit of a challenge to manage. I find that it is harder to offer Her my will in following the things I must do to manage these illnesses than it was to fast. The one time I was stubborn about it, I became very sick. So in union with your more traditional fast, I offer my ‘widow’s mite’ of a fast: this includes, among several other daily disciplines, having to give up coffee and alcohol for the rest of my life. The coffee is a killer. Especially when my hubby brews it each morning! Lol! I add my prayers. And may Our Lady increase and beautify all our ‘Widow’s Mites’! In the Hearts of Jesus, Mary + Joseph.”

This is the third day of the fast, one third of the way, symbolic of the third of the angels which fell from Heaven. Continue to pray and fast with fervor for not only the defeat of evil, but the triumph of Our Lady’s Reign!

Dearest Community, This fast is an enormous blessing for our family. It is our ninth year to join you in this most holy endeavor…our first novena of novena fasts! It is not possible to express the great privilege it is for us to offer this fast to Our Lady. Love and prayers to y’all!

Yesterday, we were 4 days into the 9-day bread & water fast. I randomly selected the following message and had to wonder if it might not be for everyone. Reene Terrell January 2, 1985 This apparition of Our Lady, surrounded by angels, took place at 11:30 p.m. on Cross Mountain. “I am very happy to have been able to come here for three years, thanks to the prayers of believers. Continue to pray thusly. A part of my plan has been realized. God blesses in a special way all those who are here. You can return happily to your homes. You do not immediately understand the reasons. Offer your prayers of thanksgiving for next week.”
Dear friends, I thank you all at Caritas for all what you all are doing for us. This is my second 9 day fast on bread and water after three years. I didnvt sign up as I was afraid I would not be able to do it but today its my 4th day and I’m so happy that I started it. I’m really Blessed as I live behind a Convent where I attend morning Mass but for a week starting from today they would be having Mass at 12 noon for the Retreat the nuns are in. I’m thrilled to be able to offer my fast and my Masses! Thank you once again for all the love and encouragement and help. Love Marian
