The only solution to heal the World: Holiness

There is only one way to save mankind from the powers of darkness, from satan. We have to make a strong decision for God and against satan and we have to walk with Our Lady toward holiness.
 

Our Lady says:

“…without you I am not able to help the world…” (August 28, 1986)
 

“…I desire to lead you on the way of holiness…” (October 9, 1986)

Her plan to save mankind is impossible without holiness. God always worked and saved through holiness. A period of history without saints is a period of history without God’s glorious presence and God’s work:
 

“…God has chosen each one of you, in order to use you in a great plan for the salvation of mankind…”
(January 25, 1987)
 

Our Lady’s presence here is to fulfill this plan for the salvation of mankind:
 

“…I am with you in order that you may be able to bring it about [the plan] in all its fullness…”
(January 25, 1987)

Our Lady’s presence here is also to teach us holiness, because, once again, without holiness there is no salvation of mankind:

“…Dear children, you know that for your sake I have remained a long time so I might teach you how to make progress on the way of holiness…” (January 1, 1987)

In the same month, January, 1987, through those two messages (on the 1st and the 25th) Our Lady gave us two clues to explain the reason for those very long apparitions of Medjugorje: She came to save mankind and She came to call us to holiness. There is only one way to save mankind from the powers of darkness, from satan. We have to make a strong decision for God and against satan and we have to walk with Our Lady toward holiness. Our Lady’s plan in Medjugorje is to save mankind through holiness. The goal of Our Lady’s coming is just that: to lead us to holiness, to lead us to a better life with God on earth, and to lead us to Heaven. The message of May 25, 1987, sums up Her whole plan:
 

“…I call on each one of you to consciously decide for God and against satan. I am your Mother and, therefore, I want to lead you all to complete holiness. I want each one of you to be happy here on earth and to be with me in Heaven. That is, dear children, the purpose of my coming here and it’s my desire…”

Actually, holiness is to live on earth as if already in Heaven. In 1986 Our Lady said to Jelena:

“If you would abandon yourselves to me, you will not even feel the passage from this life to the next life. You will begin to live the life of Heaven on earth.”

“…Dear children, if you live the messages, you are living the seed of holiness…” (October 10, 1985)

This means holiness will grow by itself in us.
 

Holiness is a danger, the “greatest” danger to satan’s power. By his witnessing and his life itself, a saint directly attacks the core of satan’s power in the world. The fight against darkness is a battle:

“…advance against satan by means of prayer….put on the armor for battle and with the Rosary in your hand, defeat him!…” (August 8, 1985)
 

“…By prayer you can completely disarm him [satan]…” (January 24, 1985)

Holiness comes from the Holy Spirit. Our Lady insists on the prayer to the Holy Spirit, especially before Mass. The prayer to the Holy Spirit is also said in Ivan’s prayer group each time Ivan has his apparition. Just before the apparition, the “Veni Creator Spiritus” (Come O Spirit of Creation) is said in Croatian. We need the Holy Spirit to become new human beings:
 

“…Ask the Holy Spirit to renew your souls, to renew the entire world.” (March 5, 1984)

Through the Holy Spirit we can become a new human being and live on the earth as if already in Heaven. The joy of the Resurrected Christ has to dwell in our hearts:

“Raise your hands, yearn for Jesus because in His Resurrection, He wants to fill you with graces. Be enthusiastic about the Resurrection. All of us in Heaven are happy, but we seek the joy of your hearts…” (April 21, 1984)

But to be enthusiastic about the Resurrection, we have to be immersed in the reality of the Cross. A real joy of the Resurrection may be born in our hearts only if a real love and knowledge of the fruitfulness of the cross is constantly present in us. If we spiritually participate in the sacrifice of Christ, we will be given the grace to see His victory already here on earth. Jesus must rise again in our hearts, and in our families:

“…May Jesus truly rise in your families…” (April 21, 1984)

We have to participate in Christ’s Passion and in His Resurrection by the power of the Holy Spirit to become holy. In Holy Communion we receive Jesus Crucified and Resurrected. By the Holy Spirit we are transformed to become an image of Christ. That is why Holy Communion is life for us:
 

“…Let the Holy Mass be your life…” (April 25, 1988)

Jesus said: “I am the Resurrection and the life.” (John 11:25) Through the grace of the Sacraments we receive the Holy Spirit to have light and to resemble Christ:

“…I wish that you all be the reflection of Jesus, which will enlighten this unfaithful world walking in darkness…” (June 5, 1986)

The highest call of Our Lady is for us to be the reflection of Jesus. By his own strength and work, nobody can be the reflection of Jesus. It can only happen if it is granted by God, through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is love and light:
 

“…The most important thing in the spiritual life is to ask for the gift of the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit comes, peace will be established. When that occurs, everything changes around you…” (October, 1984)
 

“…Pray to the Holy Spirit for enlightenment…” (November 8, 1984)

The Death and Resurrection of Jesus opened a new era to mankind in which we could receive in a special way the grace to be a light to others. On Good Friday (April 20, 1984), Our Lady said to Jelena:

“You should be filled with joy! Today Jesus died for your salvation. He descends to Hell and opens the gates of Paradise. Let joy reign in your hearts!…”

By this joy and through this light that we receive as a gift at Baptism and with the Sacraments, we can be the witnesses of the light of Christ:
 

“…in your life you have all experienced light and darkness. God grants to every person to recognize good and evil. I am calling you to the light, which you should carry to all the people who are in darkness. People who are in darkness daily come into your homes. Dear children, give them the light!…” (March 14, 1985)

This light can only come from the Holy Spirit. Our Lady says:
 

“…When you have the Holy Spirit, you have everything…” (October 21, 1983)

The Holy Spirit makes us holy. The Holy Spirit can make us light to others. It is especially in the Sacraments of the Church and during the Holy Mass that we can receive the Holy Spirit:
 

“…I wish your Mass to be an experience of God. I wish especially to say to the young people: be open to the Holy Spirit because God wishes to draw you to Himself…” (May 16, 1985)
