The Land Where Dreams Come True

The Land Where Dreams Come True

An American priest, on his last night in Medjugorje, decided not to go to sleep, but rather spend the night in prayer. Around 2:00 a.m. in the morning, he began walking back from St. James Church through a path overlooked by Cross Mountain. In the silence of the night, on the deserted path, he encountered a young, beautiful woman. She was nervous in his presence, so he reassured her that he meant her no harm. She had just arrived in Medjugorje. Slowly the girl told this gentle priest how she had run away from home at an early age to follow her dream to become a great singer on stage, but things hadn’t worked out the way she had hoped. Being hungry with no money, she was led into a life of destitution to earn her money, as women in desperate situations sometimes do. Not only were her dreams broken, but her heart as well. Then she heard about Medjugorje—that it was a place where hearts could go to be made new. She desperately wanted a new heart. She scraped together what money she could which was just enough to get her to Medjugorje, but she didn’t have a place to stay.

The priest told her that he was leaving early in the morning, that he had wanted to spend the night in prayer, so she could have his room for the night. He gave her what he had, which was hope, and told her he was certain Our Lady would take care of her from there. He asked her if she still sings, and when she said no, he asked if she would, at least, sing a song for him. She was silent for a moment, but then began to sing on that empty path, in the middle of a grassy meadow, under the moon and a sky full of shining stars, with the dark silhouette of the mountains of Medjugorje standing as if they were the backdrops of a large stage. She sang softly and beautifully, bringing tears to the priest’s eyes as he saw the beauty of the girl’s soul break through the brokenness of her heart. And what was the song she sang?

Somewhere, over the rainbow
way up high
There’s a land that I’ve heard of,
once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
and the dreams that you dare to dream
really do come true…

If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow…why oh why can’t I?

Sometimes my heart is broken because souls do not know what Our Lady offers them in Medjugorje. Do you have a broken heart, broken dreams, broken lives? Bring them to the Mother, to the land where the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true. That’s the miracle of Medjugorje.

Hi Caritas:

The Over the Rainbow message was… incredible, as I sit here, unable to stop crying, I need you guys to know how important your messages are to me. I just realized that everything I am spiritually is due to ya’ll. The joy, happiness and peace in my heart right now go deep – a place only Our Lady opened up – thanks to you. Please accept my tear filled gratitude – and I continue to beg you for more messages – daily would be a good thing! God Bless!!

D.D.

I want to thank you also for being so instrumental in spreading all that Our Lady wants. The song has also brought me to tears and I know it is the working of the Holy Spirit. God’s work is so much more exciting than what the world could ever offer. I will keep you in my prayers for your constant protection and grace.

This article is given to me right at this moment to heal my wounds as our Lady healed this woman’s woundedness. Whatever it is we are going through ,our Lords knows exactly what it is and He addresses it. It is so comforting that we have our Mother Mary to go to and knowing that she is the mother who will understand and ready to cuddle us and sing us a lullaby. Today I was able to cry my heart to her and beg to remove this burden that I have and be able to love unconditionally.

  4. As I try to conceive of the scenario of the conversation between the good priest and the young lady with her singing, a little curtailed perhaps in view of the time, I cannot contain the flow of my tears knowing the meeting was divinely arranged. She got her room and I get this desire to really visit there this June pending available funding…thanks mej.com

  5. Each time I read the messages, I am taken back to June, 1996 and August, 2005, when I was blessed with visits to Medjugorje, in August traveling with you all from Catitas in Birmingham. My prayer is that once again before I die, I will be able to visit again. Thank you, and Caritas is frequently in my prayers.
