In the above message, which was given this day, 27 years ago, Our Lady appeared to Medjugorje visionary Marija during Communion while Mass was taking place in the home of the founder of Caritas of Birmingham.
It was the intention of Our Lady to give messages in Alabama. Why?
Our Lady had stopped giving the weekly messages to the parish in Medjugorje on January 8, 1987. Our Lady then began to give messages on the 25th of the month for the world. The seeds of the messages had matured to a point where part of Our Lady’s plan for Medjugorje was fulfilled.
Then, Our Lady came to Alabama, November 1988 and began to give messages almost everyday in the founder of Caritas’ home. After Marija underwent surgery to donate her kidney to her brother, Andrija, Our Lady stopped giving the daily messages in Alabama beginning on December 15, 1988, with the exception of Christmas Day when She appeared with Baby Jesus in the loft of the home of the founder of Caritas. Then, on January 15, 1989, Our Lady told Marija that She will again appear in the Bedroom where the apparitions had been taking place before the surgery, and give messages again. Our Lady desired to speak.
The messages that Our Lady gave while in the home of Caritas’ founder in Alabama in 1988-1989, became the foundation spirituality for the Community of Caritas that was birthed and now lives and works around the site of the apparitions.
This history is part of the foundation that backs Medjugorje.com. In the writings of the founder of Caritas, including those on Medjugorje.com, what is presented is not opinions on the messages, nor commentary, but rather, real-life experiences of taking Our Lady’s messages and applying them to life, to the issues of the day, to everything that makes a part of our daily experience. To speak on the message, to write on the message without life experience is hollow, an empty shell, a dead kernel of corn.
