The Election is Over, Now What?

The Election is Over, Now What?

The Flag in the Field of Apparitions at Caritas with the Cross on the Mountain

The Flag flies on December 12, 2017, in the Field of Apparitions, with the Cross on the Penitentiary Mountain overlooking. The United States was consecrated to the Cross in Our Lady’s presence here at Caritas in July 2013. Our future is in the hands of Jesus and Mary.

The elections are now over. What do we do now? For the past two years we have experienced the renewals of God’s order being re-established in our Nation. The prayers, especially the Patriotic Rosary Novena, have held off what might have been disaster. However, stating what has been said before on many occasions, now is not the time to relax. Our Lady of Medjugorje said on January 24, 1985:

“…these days you have experienced God’s sweetness through the renewals which have been in this parish. satan wants to work still more fiercely to take away your joy from each one of you. By prayer you can completely disarm him and ensure your happiness…”

Recently President Trump was at a rally in Missouri. A woman fainted and people rushed to help her. President Trump stopped his speech and said to offer a prayer for her. One person started singing Amazing Grace. Others started to join, and then President Trump backing away from the podium, motioned for everyone to join. Soon, the whole arena was singing Amazing Grace. Under who’s leadership would this have happened? Christians feel safe to be Christians. President Trump, whether one wants to consider him Christian or not, gives way to Christians. This is one of the most important lessons to learn about all that is happening: Our ability to live a Christian life in peace, is directly affected by what happens in the political world. While this may not be “religiously correct” to say that politics matters to religion, St. Paul makes it clear that for Christians to recognize this, pleases God.

1 Timothy 2:1-3

“First of all, then, I ask that supplications, prayers, petitions and thanksgivings be offered for everyone, for kings and for all in authority, that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all devotion and dignity. This is good and pleasing to God our Savior…”

This pleases “God, our Savior”, because God often saves His people through these means, through “kings and all in authority”. Now is a time to pray even more, petition even more, thank God even more.

Perhaps there is no better way to do this than to join us here at Caritas, December 8-12, 2018, for the Five Days of Prayer, for the Reconciling of Ourselves, Our Families and Our Nation Back to God. This is the 26th year of this prayer event, and one that if no one ever came, we would do it for ourselves, because it means that much. Visit here for more information about December 8-12, and continue to pray daily for our Nation and world.

  1. It is so beautiful what President Trump did. He has recognised prayer to be a priority. We are so sad here in our Island Nation as our leaders are fighting for seats and positions not considering the hearts of our peoples cry for fair play to retain Democracy in our nation…please Caritas pray for our country Sri Lanka, that it will not go deeper into dismay and sadness. Our Mother’s presence at Medjugorje is so soothing and the prayers said there is powerful. In that utter uncertainty we plead to our mother Mary, that all nations will be healed and restored in her loving Sons Sacred Heart, washed in His most precious blood, that soon new nations with law and order and that God’s law above all will Triumph paving the way to Jesus’s return to us in all hearts with love and joy. Love to you all out there. May God’s love prevail.
