The Beginnings of One of the Most Important Events in the History of Medjugorje

November 19, 2018 A.D.

Thirty years ago, witnessed the beginnings of one of the most important events in the history of Medjugorje. The cycle of Our Lady’s apparitions in the home of a Friend of Medjugorje and his wife began.

It first must be understood, that Our Lady said in Her January 8, 1987 message:

“…Dear children, I desire to keep on giving you still further messages, only not every Thursday, dear children, but on the 25th of each month. The time has come when what my Lord desired has been fulfilled. Now I will give you fewer messages but I am still with you…”

The apparitions to Marija in a Friend of Medjugorje’s home began almost two years later, November 18, 1988. At this point in the Medjugorje events, Our Lady was only giving messages once a month. But, when Our Lady came to a Friend of Medjugorje’s home, She immediately started giving messages almost every day. It was clear that Our Lady was beginning a new part of Her plan, one that continues to this day, as the site eventually became Caritas of Birmingham, the largest Medjugorje center in the world, and continues to propagate the messages of Our Lady, with a Friend of Medjugorje as the most outspoken voice for the Medjugorje messages.

This week as we celebrate Thanksgiving in the United States, we are remembering all of you in our prayers.
