She was three years old when She made Her way to the Temple, each step bringing Her further away from Her father and mother whom She loved with all Her heart. Though She could no longer see them, She knew tears were falling down their old, wrinkled faces. Not another caress, embrace or kiss would She receive from them, nor would She give to them, except through the prayers said for each other, delivered by their angels.
Her life was spent waiting, hoping and longing….as She prayed for God to send His Love to the world. She offered to Him, Her life as a sacrifice.
She wasn’t expecting “the Glory” to come to Her. She had desired only that Her life would serve to bring glory to the One whom She loved. But the Glory came, and hid Himself within Her womb, and called Her….Mother. She who had sought nothing for Herself, became fully possessed of Love and for a little while at least, He was Hers alone. A lifetime of waiting, of hoping, of longing…turned into a joy beyond measure, when “the Glory” came.
