Special Announcement

If you are in need of receiving a special Christmas Spirit, if your family is need of conversion, if you have things weighing you down and have lost your joy or need an increase of joy, Our Lady Has Made an Opportunity for You – Friday, December 12, 2008.

It is part of the Rule of the Caritas Community that we do not pray for “good weather” at any time because we have consecrated the weather to Our Lady and believe firmly that whatever weather we receive it is for our good, even if it appears at the time not to be for our good. God has proven this to us over and over again, and so whatever weather we receive, we are thankful for it because we know it is for the best. For the past two days it has rained continuously, so much that for the first time in all the 16 years that we have held the Five Days of Prayer, we have had to reschedule Christmas in the Field, which was scheduled for today, Thursday, December 11th. Christmas in the Field will be held tomorrow evening on Friday, December 12th. Since it lands on a Friday, at the end of the work week, the possibility of many of you being able to come tomorrow has greatly increased and we send out an invitation to come.
 

If you are in need of receiving a special Christmas Spirit, if your family is need of conversion, if you have things weighing you down and have lost your joy or need an increase of joy make a spontaneous decision to experience Christmas unlike you have ever experienced before. Come to Caritas and experience Jesus. At morning prayer this morning (Thursday), the following message was randomly picked from Words from Heaven at the end of prayer:

December 25, 1987
 

“Dear children, rejoice with me! My heart is rejoicing because of Jesus and today I want to give Him to you. Dear children, I want each one of you to open your heart to Jesus and I will give Him to you with love. Dear children, I want Him to change you, to teach you, and to protect you. Today I am praying in a special way for each of you and I am presenting you to God so He will manifest Himself to you. I am calling you to sincere prayer with the heart so that every prayer of yours may be an encounter with God. In your work and in your everyday life, put God in the first place. I call you today with great seriousness to obey me and to do as I am calling you. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Take these words to heart, kneel down and ask Our Lady to get you here. You will not regret it, even if you must drive 10-12 hours to get here. The whole day tomorrow is planned to prepare our hearts for Christmas in the Field, including a special Christmas Rosary in the morning (at 9:50 a.m.), a talk by A Friend of Medjugorje at 2:30 p.m., followed by Christmas in the Field (4:30 p.m.) Bring a flower to bring for Jesus to show your dedication to Him and live the following message of Our Lady.

“Dear children, today I am asking you to do something concrete for Jesus Christ. As a sign of dedication to Jesus, I want each family of the parish to bring a single flower before that happy day. I want every member of the family to have a single flower by the crib so Jesus can come and see your dedication to Him! Thank you for having responded to my call.”

If you have a distance to travel, try to be here at least by 3:00 p.m. before the evening program gets underway at 4:30 p.m. We are hosting a dinner tomorrow night after the celebration. If you contact us immediately through mej feedback, we can make a reservation for you for a dinner. The cost is $10.00 per person. Please include your credit card number, name, expiration date, etc.

Bring plenty of warm clothes, blankets to sit on (no lounge chairs, no cell phones, no cameras, no video cameras, etc.) You can easily drive from several states around Alabama. If you stay overnight, we can recommend reasonable hotels when you arrive or you can use full hookup for campers or primitive camping on Caritas grounds.
