Profound Words or Repeating the Gospel?

On December 4, 1988, Our Lady appeared to Marija in a Friend of Medjugorje’s home. Our Lady came very happy and She said:

“I invite you to live the profoundness of the messages that I give.”

We know that now many of you see and understand Our Lady’s words as profound.  But that was not always the case. Many have been schooled through a Friend of Medjugorje’s writings for the past 30 years, and understand that Our Lady’s words are profound. Yet, 30 years ago, no one  was saying this. Here it was in 1988, that a Friend of Medjugorje had been praying and sacrificing to understand Our Lady’s words, all the while some in the Medjugorje world were telling him that Our Lady was only repeating the Gospel, or that Her words were repetitive, and that Our Lady was not saying anything new. Some even told him not to focus too much on the message. A Friend of Medjugorje was amazed that all these “scholars” already knew everything Our Lady was saying. If this was the case, then really, Our Lady did not need to come because they already knew everything. However, the world is full of these people, yet the world and the Church are still sick.

This message of December 4, 1988, was a confirmation to a Friend of Medjugorje, directly from Our Lady that there was something deeper to Her words than a repetition of the Gospel. Our Lady was here to say something more than what the educated class of religious people were saying, and Our Lady was not intending to be chained by them or their theology.

About 6-7 years ago, Medjugorje visionary Marija told a Friend of Medjugorje about a priest who came to her with a problem he had with something Our Lady said. The priest told Marija that something Our Lady said was not theologically correct. Marija told the priest, “I don’t know about your theology. I know Our Lady said that.”

A Friend of Medjugorje was the only leader in the Medjugorje world, dedicating his mission of Caritas solely to the messages and their inculturalization into life. The Caritas motherhouse, The Tabernacle of Our Lady’s Messages, is a 65,000 square foot edifice, dedicated to the writing, manufacturing, distribution, and archiving of Our Lady’s words and the Medjugorje phenomenon. After 32 years, a Friend of Medjugorje’s mission has not changed, only expanded beyond our capability to keep up with the demand. Hence, the reason we are gathering 20,000 new Field Angels, because we need them to keep up with the growing demand.

If Our Lady instructs that Her words are profound, then one can be assured that if one has not reached that conclusion, then much more prayer and sacrifice are needed.
