Fasting is a cleansing, a washing of the spirit. It cleanses the mind, knocks down ego, and raises humility. Fasting is a positive good, a washing rain leaving the air clear, therefore, the mind crisp, the haze in the mind gone with perception, no different than looking to a sky without clouds.

As high as the sky is, fasting from the heart is as deep, in that it brings prayer deeper still because it comes forth more deeply from the heart. Fasting is a positive good for the family, a killer of strife, and a birthing of love. Fasting brings holiness. Holiness brings God’s blessing and favors. When you fast you are not doing something for God, He is doing something for you.
