Our Lady knows not only the state of our hearts, but the state of our lives and the world.
June 11, 2019 – A villager in Medjugorje rakes hay, just across from the Caritas Mission House. While thousands pour into Medjugorje every day, the agrarian life still goes on. Though not as prominent as it used to be, the traces of the agrarian roots in Medjugorje are still seen from time to time.
In Our Lady’s message above, She was speaking to the villagers who were physically tired, but Our Lady does not excuse them from praying. Our Lady knows the state of our hearts and the world. It would be nice to quit everything and just pray all the time or just spread the messages. But, Our Lady knows that people have to make a living. Yet, this work which we must do, cannot take away from the importance of what is happening every day in our world.
We at Caritas have many jobs we do every day. But, everything we do is an action towards spreading the messages. From shipping out books and CD’s, to maintaining this website, to broadcasting on Radio WAVE, to arranging Medjugorje pilgrimages, to milking cows, gathering eggs, feeding pigs and horses, and the kids going to our school. We work many hours. Our work is physically exhausting, yet prayer is our everyday food which gives strength. We are reminded of a young man who visited Caritas during an exceptionally busy time. He pulled us aside on the way to the daily Rosary and told us that he was so tired he was having trouble praying. In other words, he was asking to take some time off of working. We told the young man, “Good for you! Good for you that you are having trouble praying because you are physically tired. Now, your prayer can depend on God and not on yourself and what makes you feel good. Now, is when the prayer counts.” Needless to say the young man was shocked, yet he responded that he had never been told anything like that before.
We spoke on the June 6, 2019, Mejanomics, I Will Not Fail Thee Nor Forsake Thee, that many are trapped in an electronic world which gives no rest. The hands are occupied, the mind is occupied. There is no physical or mental rest. This is why Our Lady has said:
June 25, 2010
Our Lady desires us to be a “living” sign, for a world which is so tired that it is walking dead. People today are tired. Make a choice to be a living sign. Turn off your phone for a day. Go into nature, or find some small work in nature. Come here to Caritas and climb to the Cross and pray in the Field of Apparitions, surrounded by an agrarian life. Make a break, before you break.
