Our Lady appeared to Ivan during his prayer group meeting at the Blue Cross at 10:00 p.m. tonight, May 24, 2013. The prayer group began singing at around 9:00 p.m. A little before 9:30 p.m., Ivan started the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary. After the Rosary, we prayed the 7 Our Fathers, Hail Mary’s and Glory Be’s. Our Lady appeared to Ivan around 10:00 p.m. and the apparition lasted for several minutes. Below is Ivan’s description of the apparition.
“Tonight, the most important from the meeting with Our Lady. Also tonight Our Lady came to us very joyful and happy. At the beginning She greeted all of us with Her Motherly greeting, ‘Praised be Jesus my dear children.’ Then Our Lady especially prayed for the sick present. Then She prayed over all of us with Her hands extended for a while. Then for a longer time, Our Lady especially prayed today for peace in families and She prayed for holiness in the family. Then I recommended all of you, all of your needs, your intentions, your families and in a special way, the sick. Then a private conversation followed with Our Lady which remains only between us. After that conversation, Our Lady left in prayer, in an illuminated Sign of the Cross, with a greeting, ‘Go in peace my dear children.’
“You know that tomorrow is the 25th and on every 25th of the month, Our Lady gives us Her message which She directs to the world. We wait for this message tomorrow and we will see what Our Lady wants to tell us. Thank you.”

The Blue Cross is at the base of Apparition Mountain, and is one of the most sacred sites in Medjugorje because of the hundreds of apparitions that have taken place there over the years. Here, pilgrims gathered around the original Blue Cross for tonight’s apparition to Ivan, May 24, 2013. Forty-eight year old Medjugorje visionary, Ivan, has been climbing Apparition Mountain with his prayer group for more than 30 years now, giving Our Lady the joy to be with those who travel the world to be there with Her. Being only 16 years old when the apparitions began, he has lived through all the normal experiences of life—going to school, getting married, having children, providing for his family, establishing a home, etc., but with the difference of having a daily encounter with the Mother of God every evening. How much he has learned from Our Lady over the years! But, he had to begin as we all have to begin, through learning how to pray and being obedient to Her instructions, even when the prayer group was finding prayer difficult:

Medjugorje visionary, Ivan, had an apparition of Our Lady tonight, May 24, 2013, at the Blue Cross. While in prayer, waiting for Our Lady to come, gray clouds broke open and formed into the shape of a heart. Our Lady says that God wants to speak to us through nature.

The world, the flesh and sin—all combine to create around our hearts dark clouds where we are not able to see the love that surrounds us. We know that on days where storm clouds fill the sky, that above the clouds there is the clear, brilliant blue sky. The cloudy conditions of our own hearts often prevent us from being able to see through to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary and to know the deep reality of their love for us. Our Lady teaches us that prayer, faith and repentance open closed hearts. The two beautiful feasts in the Church, the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary are approaching, June 7 & 8. We can accept the sign of the heart left in the sky in Medjugorje tonight, as an invitation to prepare our hearts to celebrate these feasts.
It is a beautiful grace to head to Our Lady’s site of Her apparition to Ivan for his prayer group meetings hours before Her visitation, to sit in silence, and then join in the prayers of the ever increasing numbers of villagers and pilgrims. In that time, eyes are ceaselessly roaming through the landscape—from the village of Medjugorje and the steeples of St. James Church, to the grape vineyards, to the walking paths through the fields, and always to Cross Mountain, the majestic peak upon which the symbol of our salvation, the Cross, stands. This picture of Cross Mountain was taken this evening, May 24, 2013, in Medjugorje from the Blue Cross on Apparition Mountain. A Friend of Medjugorje has written many things over the years about the significance of the Cross and walking the path of Our Lady’s messages from Medjugorje.

Therefore, there is no other way. It is necessary to, lovingly and without complaining, embrace your suffering by taking “one’s” own cross. Jesus said take up “your cross,” not His…The cross you have is the cross God gave you. Yes, it could be aggravated by bad decisions we have made. It could be bad fruit we have picked in our lives from living wrong, or it could be suffering God has given us to test us and, thereby make us holy. Whatever it may be, it is the cross, or one might say the antidote and trial, we need to purify us.”

Deep gratitude & Thanks BE To GOD, allowing Our Lady, The Holy Mother of GOD appear all these years. Mother Mary found me & has been trying without ceasing guiding me and again, I received answer to an inner question that has been long in my mind/head. Today’s Head Line gave me my answer. Thank You for your motherly Love Blessed Mother! Thanks and May the Love of God shower you all my dear brothers. The experience we having Our Mother’s love is Universal. In Sri Lanka all the Christians were so devoted to the Lady of Madhu as well as the people in other religions. The Shrine of Mother Mary in Madhu, is offered so many blessings in Sri Lanka. Yesterday I was there and asked Our Mother for her prayers for me to visit Medjugorje very soon. Please pray for me to come over there before God our Father stop Her appearances. This is a miracle from Heaven! Praise the Lord!

The community has kept me abreast of the messages of Our Lady for all these years, I have been to Caritas 3 times and find it Holy, reverent, and peaceful. Just recently up here in Boston, Ivan was here at Saint Leonard’s Parish where Fr. Antonio is pastor. The church was full for the 5pm Saturday Vigil Mass. (I am a Lector there as well) It was wonderful Mass. After Mass Ivan and the rest of us in Church prayed the Holy Rosary and during our praying Our Blessed Mother appeared to Ivan and afterwards he explained what Our Lady had said as well as explaining to us what She has been trying to tell us for all these years and for Her coming. It was a wonderful, wonderful evening and I believe everyone went home a little humbled.
Again, Our Blessed Mother has reminded me in a gentle way that it’s God’s will not mine that I need to follow, even when it is a struggle. God never promised that following his plan would always be easy, just that he would be with us while we do, maintaining faith in His plan keeps us on the path to salvation.
