Today some scenes along the path to the Blue Cross. The grape harvest is nearing to an end with some workers in the fields. People in the village on the path are kind and generous in their hearts and helpful along the way. Someone being lifted in a wheelchair up a flight of stairs, hidden from the world, yet fully expressing the mercy of God.
This hand painted rock points the way to the holy site of the Blue Cross, where Our Lady appeared to visionary, Ivan tonight, September 7, 2007. As the Blue Cross is not easily visible from the road, the sign, which is located just off the road that runs at the base of Apparition Mountain, alerts pilgrims that the Blue Cross is nearby.
Arriving at the Blue Cross, pilgrims were found, already gathering there five hours before the prayer group was to begin.
The following is Ivan’s description of what took place during his apparition:
Tonight the most important from the meeting with Our Lady was that Our Lady came very happy. She greeted us with a greeting, “Praised be Jesus, my dear children.” Our Lady prayed especially for the sick present here tonight. Our Lady then prayed with Her hands extended over those present. She then blessed us all with Her Motherly Blessing. She blessed all religious articles brought for blessing. As always, I recommended all of you, your needs, petitions, your families, and especially the sick. Our Lady continued to pray especially for peace in the world. We then prayed an Our Father and a Glory Be with Our Lady. Our Lady spoke with me and I with Her privately. Then Our Lady left in the illuminated sign of the cross saying, “Go in peace my dear children.” This is what is important from tonight.
Taken on September 7, 2007, on the way to the Blue Cross. Everybody is happy when it’s time to harvest the grapes! It’s part of the beautiful life of Medjugorje that is stamped into the memories of pilgrims from all over the world who have gone to Medjugorje. These are the grapes that have been kissed by the “dancing” sun each evening, at the very time of Our Lady’s apparition.
