Onward, Christian Soldier

Onward, Christian Soldier

October 24, 2018 A.D.

Our Lady of Medjugorje said on October 2, 2018:

“…My Son showed you the way and gave you hope, and I am consoling and encouraging you because, my children, I had come to know pain, but I had faith and hope…”

Our Lady knows the state of the world, the state of each one’s pain. But it has a purpose.

Crosses on Cross Mountain, October 19, 2018

Medjugorje, early morning, October 19, 2018 – Crosses left by pilgrims on Cross Mountain, with the main Cross seen in the background. The Cross is everywhere, because people are everywhere. Wherever there are people, there is the Cross, because each person experiences it.

Our Lady’s words of October 2, 2018, ring true for all, because Our Lady has come among us, and She understands our pain and suffering. But, rather than focus so much on suffering, Our Lady desires us to overcome it. It is as a Friend of Medjugorje wrote in, I Don’t Like My Cross:

“…Suffering today is being experienced by all of Our Lady’s children. Often, we will hear from family, friends, and many on our mailing list, ‘Please pray for me. I am going through difficult trials right now.’ The truth is, everyone is. The time we are in is the purification of the heart. Our Lady wants us not to be crushed by this purification, but to be made stronger…”

A few years ago, a Friend of Medjugorje remarked when hearing a popular Christian song playing, that many Christian songs today focus on the struggles, rather than the Cross and our life as Christians, as the songs which used to be sung like, Onward, Christian Soldiers:

“Onward, Christian soldiers,
marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus going on before!”

No doubt people relate today to songs about struggling, but the Cross is the banner of our battle, not our handicap. We are soldiers. Many today are stuck in suffering and struggle, because they have not comprehended that just as a soldier goes through arduous training to be ready for battle, Our Lady is showing us that our cross, the purification of this time, is leading to a time of Great Evangelization, in which each person will be used by Our Lady as Her apostles. Wherever you are in your walk of purification, have faith and hope as Our Lady said. Be not crushed, but be made stronger.

“Christ, the royal Master,
leads against the foe;
Forward into battle,
see His banner go!”

Onward, Christian soldier, and live every day the words of Our Lady spoke on November 25, 1997:

“…become conscious of your Christian vocation. Holy martyrs died witnessing: I am a Christian and love God over everything…”

As we prepare for Our Lady’s 25th message tomorrow through Marija, let each Christian soldier march ahead, with the words, “I am a Christian” in our hearts and on our lips.

  1. You have know idea how much this message was, and is, needed! My marriage may be on the brink of divorce, with a very ugly confrontation right in the middle of the 9 day fast. All I can do is hope and pray, and offer my sorrow and pain for our conversions and Our Lady’s plans. Thank you for all you do for Our Lady and for us. We need Caritas! Who else would have the words we need to hear, when we need to hear them??
