There are many aspects in the history of Our Lady’s apparitions here at Caritas. One such apparition took place when Marija came to Birmingham and stayed with a Friend of Medjugorje and his wife in their home. Marija was to donate her kidney to her brother Andrija. On December 15, 1988, the day before the apparition was to take place, Marija asked about the operation, and Our Lady told Marija:
The words, “I will be with you…” could be taken figuratively. However, in this case, the meaning was literal. On December 16, 1988, as Marija underwent surgery to donate her kidney to her brother Andrija, Our Lady appeared above Marija and smiled at her. Marija was holding the Rosary in her hand and Our Lady stayed for what seemed like around two hours. This is one of the longest apparitions in the history of Medjugorje, and it took place right here in Alabama.
There are many years of cognition with Our Lady, experience which can never be undone – actions which Our Lady could not recreate now, which a Friend of Medjugorje and his wife have gained through prayer and sacrifice, resulting in what is written about in writings and said on Radio WAVE today. There was once a time in our history that some did not agree with a Friend of Medjugorje and his understanding of the messages. Some said that it was merely his opinion. However, today, we do not really see this anymore, because it has become common knowledge that a Friend of Medjugorje’s understanding of the Medjugorje message has been repeatedly confirmed by Our Lady’s words and actions.
As we look back at the past 30 years since Our Lady first came here, bringing a live grace of conversion from Medjugorje and depositing that grace here, we are often amazed to find that many things which a Friend of Medjugorje says today, were said back then, in 1988. This is a beautiful time for us, not only because of Christmas, but because Our Lady really came here with Little Jesus, a heritage which we share with all of you, our supporters and friends. Visit here to read on the history timeline about many of these events.
